From the thread previous thread, I acknowledged Mikkola and Goodrow efforst there. probably changed the momentum of that period by leaps and bounds.

I don't think New Jersey was really prepared for what happened there. The moment got to them.

Some do. Palat doesn’t. But as a whole, yes. Why many attributed to initial foray to jitters or being over amped. They got better as game continued. Enjoying the win and know Game 2 will be markedly harder. But also think Rangers can be better

I saw a lot of comparisons of the Devils this year to the Rangers last year in the lack of experience. I think the bubble series where we got our asses kicked by you guys prepared us for last year more than we realized. This is most of the Devil's first taste of playoffs at all

Really would love to find a way to bring Mikkola back. Cap constraints will make Drury job very hard. Hopefully we don’t have to worry about that until late June

I absolutely love Mikkola. I think we were all skeptical of the fact that he may just be another giant defenseman we throw a dart at for the bottom pairing a la Nemeth. He is so much better than that. He can get the puck out of the zone. He is deceivingly fast. He's always at maximum effort.

So much better than Nemeth and Harpur. Mikkola is guy that benefits when the team overall is better. He's better than I expected as a Ranger he struggled in St. Louis this year. Probably didn't help that Binnington is terrible now.

Agree and hope injury free. Motte blocked a few shots last night and didn’t participate in the optional practice today, so hoping truly just maintenance.

And years ago it was the Canadian teams and then the CDN dollar. Need balance. Can’t have wide disparities. Bigger issue is the lack of state tax in places, but that is not changing the CBA. Part of the concern for me is that there are a lot of things that aren't considered "Hockey Related Revenue" so the owners get a bigger share of the pot to begin with despite the players being the only product they have.

Not a fan of how that's split up to artificially keep the cap lower.
