Yo LA, the EDM-LA series is turning out to be one of the better ones. Just talking about the forwards nice to see draft picks Kupari and Kaliyev stepping up and if they bust out like Kempe did LA is gonna have some staying power.

Now if Turcotte and Fagemo can contribute at the NHL level not a bad group off forwards to build upon.

Really good to see Byfield doing things on L1 he never did in his career as a scorer. Kid is chipping pucks in then chasing, not turning pucks over, working the walls, cognizant of the D and neutral zones/positioning, battling in the crease. .... When he does break out offensively the skills he's learning now will make him an all around player. Love how the Kings are developing him especially on a line with Kopitar.

Not to jinx him but Korpisalo is just what the doctor ordered. He's got it in him to play big for long stretches. A UFA next yr I'm guessing Blake looks to keep him. He was the goalie I wanted from CLB instead of Forseberg.

Listening to the CBC feed last night they said Kostin's game winner from the circle was a wrister that clocked at 87 MPH!! And it was a wrister, not a snapper. Unreal. Did not think a wrister could pop at that speed.

Domi + Athanasiou (or equivalent) - $9,000,000
T. Johnson + D!ickinson + Blackwell - $10,000,000
Kurashev + Bjork + Wagner - $6,000,000
Raddysh + Katchouk + Reichel - $2,500,000

S. Jones + Murphy + Zaitsev + Tinordi - $19,000,000
Mrazek + Soderblom = $6,000,000
Buyouts + Retention = $4,000,000

About $56,500,000 with 3 D and 2 F spots left

To be securely above the cap floor, probably need 2 sizable contracts for about $5,000,000 each, one D and one F.

Will be interesting to see if they take bad contracts and/or sign useful free agents.

Howdy boys and girls.
Could not stop myself from spinning the Tankathon.

20 times:
1, 1, 2, 1, 4, 4, 5, 2, 4, 2, 5, 5, 4, 5, 5, 3, 4, 4, 5, 1

#1 - 4 times
#2 - 3 times
#3 - once
#4 - 6 times
#5 - 6 times

Of course I liked my 1st 2 spins and the 1st 4 spins weren't bad either.
Thinking Darth could be right and we'll pick 4th.
Hopefully the wheel of fortune Gods grace us with a lucky 1st spin

- savvyone-1

Guys,

You keep making yourselves crazy with these spins, the only one that will matter is the one rigged and drawn by Gary Bettman in 18 days. :lol :lol

These spins show nothing that will actually happen, no matter how many times you do it. So just relax, it will be what it will be.

One thing recent history with KD should have taught us is that nobody is safe. The UFA are probably all gone.

Athanasiou came in, did his job and played "okay" but not well enough to get a prospect in trade. Maybe he stays to fill a spot, but he might look for another opportunity since this season didn't probably increase his value above that 3m mark.

Khaira is what he is. A 4th line guy on a below average team. It's what he was before Chicago and what he will be afterwards. No biggie if he stays or goes.

Bjork and Wagner, kind of depends if KD picked them up because he actually wanted them or was it just that they needed something in return. Probably neither guy is a part of this team when they are winning more than 30-35 games a season. Considering they are RFA, I assume they stay in the short term, maybe KD hopes they can increase in value as trade chips.

Kurashev is kind of an interesting one, as I feel like it was kind of a disappointing season for him. He got more opportunity and ice time but didn't really stand out too much. Hawks were a bad team and relative to the rest of the team, Kurashev was kind of mediocre. Probably they keep him but again, nobody is safe with KD.

Either this thread had an incredibly lucky day or the tankathon formula needs reworking. Cause we should get the 1st pick roughly one time out of every ten spins

Wow are you overpaying for contracts:
You are giving 50% raises to Domi and Athanaseu? Only if KD is desparate to get to the floor IMO

ohnson - Richardinson - Blackwell are already signed next year for $8.8M

Kurashev, might get $1.5 on his second contract, hasn't proved he is worth more. If KD gives Bjork or Wagner more than league minimum he should get his head examined. He took those players off the scrap heap, nobody is signing either for more than the minimum.

I don't think they are giving Soderblom $2.2 mil. based on less than 10 games played with the big club, again I see $1.5 mil. max. you are under with retention, and with Keith's recapture it totals $5.2 mil.

Also add Gutman at $950K.

It is a dilemma for KD for sure. This UFA class is really weak, especially when you know the few good one's will not be signing with a rebuilding team.

Hawks are going to end up with

Lucic
Drouin
Okposo.

What a first line that will be.

Along with Fargamo, I like Pinelli, Chromiak and Laferriere up front

They are stacked with D prospects, Clarke, Spence, Bjonfort, Gans

Still not sold on Korpisolo, he has good numbers since the trade, but really has looked meh.

Just wondering out loud if Spencer Knight is able to come back, would that make Florida want to lose the final 3 years of Bob's $10M cap hit. He has a NMC that doesn't kick in until July 1, 2024.

Kurashev is the only one to bring back. They have enough bums to replace the other bums. Maybe Bjork on a flyer contract. Vet min. Bjork has some talent so maybe LR finds a way to get him to use it consistently

First!
I expect a few two year contracts, for example Domi, 2x$5. Same for AA. Kurashev may actually get three years.

- rpeters01

Give Kurashev a Frédérick Gaudreau deal - 5 years x $2.1 AAV

Watching Tampa getting blown out, but Hagel still works his ass off.

Have to wonder how he'd look playing for LR.............

Watching NYR NJD series, Dougie Hamilton plays well during the regular season accumulating points, but who here thinks NJD would be better with Seth Jones? I do, he at least brings some toughness and can separate guys from the puck. Last game they were all shoving and wrestling except for Hamilton? Now i understand why he's played on so many different teams.

You know maybe the NHL should of accepted the bid from espn instead of giving it to NBC last time because i really like their coverage and all night I'm watching playoff hockey and i bet they would of helped the NHL grow in fans

And I was one of the people who said when he was traded that Hagel’s goal production wasn’t sustainable…

Another reason it’s a damn good thing I don’t make my living making hockey decisions.
