It’s still early, but Watching the metro playoff games it’s really hard to not imagine what could’ve been.
The Pens have serious flaws but man, so does everyone else.
The Rangers seem pretty built but that’s not the Devils team we played earlier in the month.
Canes can only score at home? Again.

Here's the real question for when Uncle Gary hands us the 4th overall pick - if Michkov is available at 4, would Pittsburgh take him? Almost as good as Bedard, but signed through 25/26 in the KHL. So completely unhelpful to the current core. |

No. You trade 4OA to DET for their 1st, a 2nd, Zadina, and Kubalik |

As an organization, we know a thing or two about getting Russian hockey players out of Russia.

That might end up as one of the worst trades in league history. Take Granlund too and I might do it lol |

Yeah, but Russia in 2023 is a whole different ballgame. His entire family would probably get drafted into the Wagner group if he did that |

It’s an annual thing people do. The top Russian players always make it over to the NHL at some point. |

Boston is going to make some moves over the summer. They have $4.5M in cap overage due to performance bonuses. Fifteen guys signed at $73.7M for a total of $78.2M leaving $5.3M to sign a minimum of five players. |

(frank)ing lame. Kings, Islanders and Minny all win. All the teams I’m rooting for and couldn’t watch one. |

Google "onhockey" I find the "sawlive" feeds the best.

Last summer Sullivan was seen in Boston having dinner, drinks and generally yucking it up with the new owners. After which he got a 3 year extension while still having a full 2 years left on his current deal. When you guarantee a coach 5 more years after disappointing results for the previous 4 years, I'm guessing that coach has a substantial role in how the team is run.
It's not much different with the Steelers.... Mike Tomlin is easily the most powerful person in that organization. He'll never be fired no matter how bad the results. I doubt Sully has the same security, but I'll bet he has little to worry about for at least a couple more years. - madmike71
Yeah, I mean he's from Boston, pretty sure he has a house there to. He had dinner and drinks with owners while they were all in town the same time. I'm not ready to straight up think he has pull on transactions and signings, despite this. I will say though if he is the coach maybe its not a bad thing if he does. I mean, how many times have we said here the last 8 years that he and the GM are not on the same page, neither Ruth or Hex? Too many to count.
As for worrying about his job...He's guaranteed that about to kick in 3 year contract money no matter what and I know many teams would want him if he left the Pens. I wouldn't say he'd be worried to begin with, even if he didnt have suspected pull with the owners. He is a good coach...perhaps gone stale in Pittsburgh, it happens, perhaps not, but he is a good coach IMO. I think if everyone here followed and watched all the other teams the same amount as they do the Pens they would see pretty much all coaches have their tendencies and make questionable decisions time to time. |

Nah. Handling that workload was a concern going back to his pre draft scouting report. He can be elite for 45 starts. Need a really good backup though. - Feds91Stammer
One hundred percent this. Pens were always gambling that a guy who never had a consistent and healthy year in juniors or the minors would be able to do that on the NHL. Inconsistent or injured yet talented and able to carry a team for stretches is who he is. |

I'm rooting for Edmonton. Sorry, not sorry. Or the Panthers, I'd be cool with that. - j.boyd919
Agree on Edmonton. I really don't want to see McDavid have not winning a Cup hanging over him most of his career like Ovechkin.
Feel somewhat the same with Matthews, but it's Toronto so it's harder to want them to win. lol |

I agree. There’s not really any Canadian teams worth rooting for at the moment anyway. |

What would make them worthy, Matt Martin on the 4th line? |
