I love our fans!!! Even with the bigger building its still one of the loudest arena in the playoffs. I don’t get how hockey commentators wouldn’t want more games on the island. Tonights atmosphere was off the charts. |

Incredible atmosphere. Nail biter for a while but they got it done. Said they’d take these two but I’ll be honest i thought I would be proven wrong after that short handed goal. Judging by the tension in the crowd I wasn’t the only one.
I’ll be back Sunday. It’s no Barclays( ) but love that arena. |

Hello and very nice win from what I could tell. Very tough times at work. - ses111
Why do you bother with this guy? So much easier to ignore there’s obviously something wrong with him. It’s actually sad at this point it has to be two years I think since I replied to a post and he’s still going. Lolz. Sorry to hear about work hopefully it straightens out for you. |

Read back further. Sorry, next time I’ll post on hockeybuzz while at a playoff game. The obsession is hysterical yet embarrassing simultaneously. The stuff people concern themselves with during a pretty much do or die playoff game. Cringe worthy stuff. This guy is in his 50’s? What a (frank)ing loser holy crap. |

The Isles need to come out with a purpose tonight.
Keys to tonight would be...
1. Score first... Play with the lead a place pressure on the Canes earlier.
2. Focus on Game 3 and only Game 3.
3. Take some pressure of Sorokin
4. Horvat needs to get on the board.
5. Instigate after the whistle, play with a freaking edge. - Nfdbulldawg
4 out of 5 was not bad. Outside of the Powerplay and yes I know Palms goal was a PP Goal...Talking overall performance here. I think the Isles are getting progressively better as the series goes on. The longer it goes I think the better the chances are.

That was a textbook third period for what the Isles need to do in this series. They have below average team speed and aren't going to overwhelm anyone with fast rushes. They can however loft some dump-ins, punish Carolina's defense, wear them down and eventually outwork them. While Anders showed some life late, I'd seriously consider adding Palms to the top PP and let him park in front of the net. He has a bit more speed to recover rebounds at this stage.
Gotta give credit to Casey, Palms, Martin and the entire defensive corps. They all stepped up and stood out IMO.
Then there's Ilya, whose only goal against was a self-inflicted wound by our power play. Tough night for Nelly, but you just know he'll come through again.
Overall, the team played good defense in the third and eventually imposed their will - keaner17
The 4th line is still the biggest momentum builder for this team. Cizikas is so important to this team. My only gripe is the first line….which carry’s over to PP1. Until Palmieri’s PP goal the PP was -1 in three games. There’s no movement and Barzal tries carrying the team and ultimately gives the puck away. The PP where Aho lost his stick they should have brought the play to Aho and worked around that advantage. It’s maddening sometimes.
Happy with the win…..but they need the PP to be better if they’re gonna do anything. |

They're certainly playing angrier. Which is a good thing, so long as the anger is disciplined. |

Couldn’t be more obvious the Canes can’t sustain anything when an opposing team plays them physically. Islanders took their foot off the gas in the second period for a stretch of time and they immediately started establishing their forecheck again. Islanders have to play 60 mins a game of hard nosed hockey if they want a chance at coming back and winning this series. The key is like you said to do it without getting called for anything. This officiating is inconsistent and terrible. |

Dobson for the positive offensive contributions he brings is incredibly slow with his decision making which more often then not is a huge contributor to our inept PP. Horvat as well. That dudes a mess. |

All of PP1 is stagnant. When Dobson throws it at the net there was only Lee to try and bang one home. When the isles finally put out the 2nd unit in the third I believe, they moved the puck way better. To me the coaches need to make some adjustments and play the hot hands. |

And this is the stickler. Hard to play pissed off, when you're never sure what action might constitute an infraction. |

And yeah, I’ve no idea what the (frank) is wrong with Horvat. |

If there were ever a PK you have to move the puck quick against it would be the canes. They’re so quick and their man to man coverage is maybe the best I’ve ever seen. They leave you zero time and space and with our apparent reluctance or inability to move the puck quick it’s a recipe for disaster and leads to turnovers. I agree the 2nd PP was certainly trying to keep it moving while the first unit was trying to slow down the Cane’s PK. Never going to work and is going to lead to unforced turnovers exactly like Barzal’s last night. |

He didn’t have that issue last season or the one prior. Horvat for all the talk of how excited he was to be in the playoffs again was once again an unmitigated disaster last night. Guy was a detriment multiple times last night. People have to stop with his supposed defensive contributions because it’s absolute nonsense. I’ll give him the face offs contribution wise. I believe that’s an important part of the game unlike some. Especially in the playoffs, but he’s been terrible outside of that and he lost quite a few defensive draws last night so that juice is running out. Hope he finds a way to start contributing. |

The majority of the calls are for holding or tripping. It appears that the guy who keeps his legs moving will draw a penalty if his forward progress is impeded. |
