He didn’t have that issue last season or the one prior. Horvat for all the talk of how excited he was to be in the playoffs again was once again an unmitigated disaster last night. Guy was a detriment multiple times last night. People have to stop with his supposed defensive contributions because it’s absolute nonsense. I’ll give him the face offs contribution wise. I believe that’s an important part of the game unlike some. Especially in the playoffs, but he’s been terrible outside of that and he lost quite a few defensive draws last night so that juice is running out. Hope he finds a way to start contributing. - Cptmjl
Ehhh…
Not sure I agree with that. But it’s a pretty subjective point, so… 🤷♂️ |

Yeah he thankfully came alive down the stretch and in the playoffs when it matters. He was a horse last night. |

Really? I feel like his game has slowed down so much. Like you said hopefully that continues to develop as he matures. The kid obviously has the skill set that’s for sure. |

The 4th line is still the biggest momentum builder for this team. Cizikas is so important to this team. My only gripe is the first line….which carry’s over to PP1. Until Palmieri’s PP goal the PP was -1 in three games. There’s no movement and Barzal tries carrying the team and ultimately gives the puck away. The PP where Aho lost his stick they should have brought the play to Aho and worked around that advantage. It’s maddening sometimes.
Happy with the win…..but they need the PP to be better if they’re gonna do anything. - kindlyrick
I agree with the movement aspect of things. Slow decision making and passing enhances the pk's ability's to apply pressure. Problem is that the puck carrier or quarterback is one slow on the decision and does not have puck support. There should two options to puck carrier at all times.
If they want to open up the points they need to be more successful down low.

They're certainly playing angrier. Which is a good thing, so long as the anger is disciplined. - Wildschwein

Perhaps the continuous ineptitude of the power play has bludgeoned me into feeling this way, but I hadn’t noticed Dobson’s game slow down overmuch. |

Could also be me not realizing it was part of his game bcs he was putting up points and our PP wasn’t nearly as bad as it is now. I remember thinking a few years ago how bad it was and wondering could it actually get worse. Question answered. |

I agree that the PP was better a few years ago. I think Lee was on top of his game, and he was scoring a decent number of PP goals on deflections and rebounds.

You can see Dober's game has slowed down. He is thinking too much. He has been getting caught in his own end a lot. Instead of getting the puck and making a quick up outlet pass... skating it hard around the net and than passing it or rushing it. He sputters...
Same on the PP... He is holding it too long and guys are setting up. |

He is busy writing one for the Canes fans...I mean 'Bingo' as I think he is the only that comments on Canes events.
