On game 4 at home you can expect a veteran cup winning TB team to be ready. Leafs have to match that & more. Deflate I don’t see that. TB doesn’t quit or mail in anything. To win this series Leafs gotta keep amping up their game & put away TB asap.

Oh, I expect Tampa's best game. If Tampa loses they'll be on the ropes going back to Toronto. I fully expect a 2 - 2 verdict going home.

That works for game 1 too though right? I mean that take seemed accurate enough.

I personally think the refs make bad calls all the time, but mostly they aren't responsible for the outcomes of games.

- golfingsince

It’s convenient to blame the 3rd team but like Messier said you get past it & play through it.

Not sure I agree. Jeannot didn't get a single penalty. Stamkos starting a totally unprokoved fight with Matthews should have been an automatic ejection, he didn't even get an extra 2. I am curious to see the stat as to how many playoff suspensions the Leafs have vs. the rest of the league over the past 7 seasons.
- winsix

We had several hooking/holding/tripping penalties not called against us too. They were interfering and holding a lot too. Pretty even reffing, they got the Rielly call right and if Matthew's hadn't of cat fought back I am pretty sure Stamkos would have been called.

Yes indeed but a battle tested team for many PO runs to be wary of.

far too many Leafs players with tans tonight. Keefe better tell them to stay off the course and out of the hot tub.

Marner played like he was eating wings and playing video games all day.

Cannot say enough about Luke Schenn.

On here when traded to the Leafs I said he would fit in & be a big leader. 👍

Missed Stamkos crosscheck and 3rd man in on Rielly. Then starting the secondary fight with Matthews.
- Roadrunner75

Im curious how many times they will be able to slash the stick out of our goalies hands before it gets called. 🤔

Grossest hit of the night was Maroon on McCabe, they didn't even bat an eye at that. The Rielly/Point deal was painful to watch but that was a puck battle that went bad, anyone who says otherwise is doing it with a bias they can't work out.

The Leafs will have to play a lot better than they did tonight to have a shot!

It's a joke. If there is a blowout against the Bruins or Tampa, the respective coaches seem to feel obligated to send out their respective assassination squads. Playoff hockey my ass.
- winsix

Yup. But hey I am happy Schenn was there to keep the leafs calm after the altercation it seemed. I didnt think he would have this type of impact when traded but Sandin and Engvall out and Schenn + others in have been great thus far.

They never seem to call instigators. Watching Paul and others chase leafs trying to force fights in game 1 and 2 should have been called. Just cut it out but it seems the league wants the animosity and physicality.
- Aaron_85

Or they don’t want cream puff football & lose the intensity & fierce competition levels.

Yes, we don't not do game 7s.

Unless we could not do a game 7. That would be cool. 🤔

I lean towards 2-2 but if the Leafs can fly & out puck possess better then 3-1 looks better.

No call was the right call, but giving Reilly 2 mins for roughing is a joke. He was jumped by 2 Lightning players.

Leafs should have come out of that with a 4 minute powerplay. Anything short of that was another disgrace for the NHL.

The guy has over 900 games of league experience.

He's a former top 5 pick for the Leafs that's moved on and won 2 cups. He's physical, has matured and learned better positioning and to play within his limitations.

IMO he was worth far more than a 3rd to the Leafs.

We went in looking to regain home ice, so we've achieved that.

Devils just won in OT.

Schenn and O'Reilly were the Leafs best players tonight. Sammy with some credit. But man it's so nice to have guys that have been there and know what it takes and what to do. Just calm and steady.

Imagine how this game looks if Liljegren was in and Schenn was out?

Schenn is a straight up MVP right now.

They need to give Schenn a two year contract extention.
