I thought Roy might have more offensive upside, but I don't follow prospects all that much.

things can change but there you go. Both Farrell and Beck are in front of Roy here.

But other than Hutson, it seems pretty tight among those guys.

but I think the point was also that if you're trying to balance each line in terms of size and avoid having a bunch of smurfs in front, there may not be that many options for Farrell in the top 6, currently at least.
- Pat1993

maybe, but thats another story

I dont think he will make the team next season anyway, unless there is a lot of injuries and what not

I wasn't arguing that Farrell is lower in these prospect rankings or whatever, just that in the long run Roy might end up having more offensive capabilities. they're obviously both still very young and these lists can change very quickly. anyway I hope they both pan out to be NHLers, if they don't play for the habs they could always become trade chips if they're talented enough.

I don't mind having smaller guys on the team but it's a story that definitely needs to be considered lol

Always good to have some competition among the kids…. Will see which one gets a shot…. Better that than what I saw in Laval this year….

As long as it does not end up with: «  would be good to have a second guy that is bigger than 6 feet on the top 6… ». For me, a small one for two bigs is a good ratio…. We have Caufield… There is space only for another one…. Not 4…

for sure. if they can avoid the mysterious injury plague and have the kids play together in Laval for the whole year they could finally start to build something interesting, which is only a good thing for the habs since they need to focus on player development and affirming a "winning culture".

and that is my point. RHP plays like Gallagher. he brings grit and works his ass off.
is Farrell that type of player? nope.
sorry to say, but Farrell is more the type of Drouin. good vision, good passer, but that's about it. not a defensive player, not a checker, not a shooter à la Caufield, not a speedster à la Byron...

dude, come on. the whole point is that we still don't know yet what kind of player Farrell will become, and what he'll be able to do at the NHL level.

don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it's impossible that he doesn't pan out, but I don't get how you can be so certain about the guy, considering his age and how little we've seen from him so far.

a guy like Gallagher when he was scoring 30 goals per season can definitely be part of the top 6 on a winning line-up.

S’en dit long…
