At least JT's is for the government run gambling (Pro Line / OLG) so the profit goes back into things like roads, hospitals etc. and it's not run as often as these other gambling website ads are.

The private companies / gambling websites are only including that in their ads and marketing because they are contractually obligated to do so. It's a bit of a farce as you pointed out - cram it down your throat and then in fine print "gamble responsibly".

It's guys like Gretzky that bother me the most. Hasn't he made enough money that he doesn't have sell his image for something like this? Cabbie might legit need the money. But major celebs doing it is a drag. Maybe they legit haven't seen the dark side of gambling, I don't know. If you're a wealthy celebrity maybe it's all glamour and you don't see the destroyed families.

I’ve been watching American channels on my streams a lot lately. They literally just stick to the game, some of their expressions are hilarious and unexpected but it’s about the sport and not some made up soap opera.

I watch a lot of WHL games. The telecasts are refreshing. No CGI ads, local commercials and not one single gambling prod. No frills, more about the sport and players.

Probably 70-80% of the people on here and Leaf fans in general thought Dubas would be gone if Leafs lost in first round. Sports journalist assumed/speculated the same thing. Now, Kypper is assuming/speculating that Dubas has options. There’s likely no hard information to support either notions. This doesn’t seem like a big deal.

While we are still in a pandemic, and MH rates are skyrocketing, and we are in an economic crisis with the highest rate of inflation and highest mortgage rates I have seen in my lifetime. It's disgusting.

Yeah, this is just a half a century of crushing pessimism talking, but tonight is game 7 for the Leafs.

We lose tonight, we definitely lose in Tampa in game 6, and then we are paralyzed for game 7.

I think gamblers are going to gamble no matter what. They don't need constant advertising to do it. They're trying to suck in the occasional gambler or sportsfan who thinks they have nothing better to do with their time.

The government bans all advertising for tobacco because smoking kills. Gambling kills people, families, households yet here we are.
