Super fun this morning riding through the city sporting the glorious blue and white. Over a 20 km ride must have got a dozen fist pumps, go leafs go baby, etc. Fun times.

Yeah I usually aim for closer to 15km as well but today was kind of bad. Had a tonic-clonic seizure around 7am so I didn’t even have it in me til around 2pm. Was feeling somewhat dizzy during the walk (nothing new after one of those) but I still was able to get a good distance in. Just stuck to busy neighbourhood a but away from the busy roads (Wortley Village here in London for instance)

I had the same disease as you when younger too but now they’ve given it a name lol

- Dozzer

I guess we just do what we can... and keep on chugging. I know I do feel better (other than arthritis) when I get some exercise. And fortunately the several times operated on ankle and knees still fit in skates and ski boots... allowing for "reliving the glory days - albeit at slower pace"

keep on ...

Because it’s Toronto media. They’re not stupid. They bring it up and debate is over because any true hockey fan would say “if he’s truly not listening to the coach he shouldn’t be playing”

It’s what I believe you would think for instance if you were seeing a guy not listening to his coach.

Once again tho, the team has won three straight, two being comebacks won in OT, only a fool coach breaks up this lineup right now.

- Dozzer

exactly...

but I would add about the Toronto media - while they are not "stupid" , they sure are sheepish - when it comes to anyone outside of the local teams - very brazen and entitled dealing with players on the Leafs etc.

they totally lack any "Balls" when talking with others - or following legitimate story lines

Maybe because game 3 was a miracle? Tampa absolutely dominated that game. The Leafs were lucky, luck like they almost never get to win that game.

And Tampa dominated the better part of 2 periods game 4. Sweet comeback for sure, and a well deserved win for the Leafs, but that game could have went differently.

It's not like leaving Bunting out has turned the series around by having the Leafs dominate at every turn.

It's obvious you have a serious dislike of Bunting, and I'm sure my points won't change it, but Bunting is a better player than many of the others who are in this lineup.

And this idea that he's a selfish player who ignores or disrespects his coach is a stretch really. He wouldn't have been playing in the top 6 and PP2 if he didn't deserve it.

I'm not a Bunting lover. Like he's the best Leaf ever etc... Nor do I think they can't win game 5 without him. I just like the lineup better with him in it.

Bunting Matthews Nylander
Knies JT Marner
Jarnkrok ROR Acciari
Kerfoot Kampf Lafferty

You could flip Bunting and Jarnkrok, but I think Jarnkrok has been invisible and a bit of a play killer.

- Leaffrog

not that it matters much - but by every statistical measure except goals (I know I know) the Leafs were the far better team in period 2 game 4... a couple of mistakes lead to goals against.

Leafs were uncharacteristically patient in game 4 period 3.

great to see.

This is nothing new except that Keefe has begun trying to bench him for it more often

https://www.thehockeybeas...oach-sheldon-keefe/?amp=1

I remember this kind of behaviour clearly… he’s a legitimate loser. Why else would a 20 goal scorer talent not even be able to make Arizona? Coaches hate this guy.

- Dozzer

Your opinion of Bunting is yours and that's fine. But your citation of hack clickbait from The Hockey Beast as anecdotal evidence of anything isn't.

I think most of us remember that game - Keefe was talking to him and he was watching the game and seemingly not listening. Some members of the media were trying to make that a story - even in the intermission - but there were actual hockey players and other coaches who said that the exchange was pretty normal.

Coaches talk to players all the time with no no eye contact or acknowledgement - watch a bench. Players are amped up and in the moment. Ever see a boxer or UFC fighter in their corner? Notice how they rarely look at their trainers? They are not in that moment - adrenaline is driving the bus.

Ironically if Bunting turned back to Keefe and said anything, the same whackjobs would've used that clip to claim he was disrespecting Keefe by talking back.

There's lots of things I don't like about Bunting, but there are things I do. The claim that he disrespects his coaches or was not liked by other coaches is unfounded and realistically unsubstantiated.

I was talking with friends yesterday and I said pretty much the same thing - they carried the momentum from undeservedly winning game 3 in Overtime into not bothering to show up for the first period in game 4. A buddy was like, "Well they didn't show up for the second either," and I argued - like you - that the results didn't show it, but they were much better in the second and the score didn't do them any favours.

If they can keep this combative spirit alive and not roll over, I like their chances. At this point the one guy I'd like to see step it up is JT. He's been okay on the power play, but his even strength play has been weak.

I think Boston closes it out in 6, but Bobrovsky has been better than his play of late (he has an .895 save percentage, but Boston has been giving it to him) - and honestly Ullmark has been ok, but not great. I'd love to see Florida take it to 7 - as would any non-Bruins fan, I think.

I've got a couple of urgent things I have to do at work today.

Yeah, they aren't getting done.

Luckily, I have no beer in the house right now.

If I did, I'd probably be three in by now.

Wednesdays (for now - until all the softball seasons start up) are our poker nights.

Thursdays I hate that alcohol was invented.

The Boston play with Nosek kills me. That was the exact same play except with intent in the waning moments of the game. Zero attention whatsoever.

I still cant believe Pageau ended Terevainen's season with a 2H across the wrists...

Teravainen is a significant piece for Carolina. ... *crickets*.

Only 19? Good for you!

With the exclusion of the occasional encounter with a drunk with poor depth perception and/or low expectations, I'm working through 52.

Close your eyes. Let your mind take you to a beautiful beach on a South Pacific island. After a day of swimming and lounging you get back onto your chartered schooner where you enjoy a fabulous meal and then settle into a deep, satisfied slumber in your cabin.

At some point in the night a shift in the movement of the boat awakens you. The weather has changed. There’s a knock on the door. Captain Holl enters, looking a little nervous and a little confused. “Looks like we’re in for a bit of a rough ride.”

Feel better?

Right? It was obvious and somewhat deliberate. He may not have intended the injury, but he intended to injure.

The good news is that Captain Holl won't hit anything.

Sergei has been pretty mediocre the past three/four years, so he doesn't have to bring it up a lot
