Added: "We went through it last year, and I don't think our guys are going to quit tomorrow. I think we're going to come out and play our best game of the series."


This guy AND his team, need that for a certain somebody, have lost the plot.

He came out after game 4 and called out their compete level and said it wasn't good enough and then they gave this effort after that. Is he just supposed to say the same thing and hope they react differently?

I'm not by any means absolving him of blame for what's happened the past 3 games I just think the media stuff is a little overblown. He has to try a different tactic. Maybe the guys see that and say that he's taking the heat for the team and they owe him a better game 6

I'd argue their effort was worse. The point is that his job is to get the team going for the next game. He tried one attempt, calling them out to the media, and that didn't work. Now he's saying they worked harder which we both know isn't true. But now we're talking more about how GG sucks and doesn't see what we're seeing as opposed to the players having to answer questions about their lack of effort.

He's not insulting your intelligence. Coaches in all series do this in the media. These interviews are an outlet for them to try to manipulate the story around the series and the vibe of the team. If after the series he sticks with the same crap then I'm right there with you but it's tough to take what coaches say game to game at face value
