You’re always confused because you don’t understand they can do both. It’s not black and white. You can build more than one way, all teams do it. But you hate the management team for some reason and don’t like 90% of what they do.
They clearly said they are not rebuilding, in the transitional sense, like Ottawa or Arizona, they’ll use everything at their disposal to try and get better and build a prospect pool and the same time. It’s not hard to understand.
They can build through the draft and try and be competitive at the same time. - LeftCoaster
You clearly don't understand there are more than one way to build a prospect pool. Bloom Raty Hirose Johansson Bains Sasson McWard. None of these guys are drafted and make the prospect pool better.
Allvin in his 18 months has traded a first two seconds and two third round picks. Any idiot can clearly see Drafting is not their priority which was my earlier comment at the beginning of this thread.

But Alvin doesn’t like firsts, he traded one already for a broken D, why not trade for another?
Tanev will retire a Flame, then be inducted into the Canucks ring of mediocrity, wearing his Flames jersey just to rub salt into the wound.Hughes and Petey will give him a standing ovation at the induction ceremony, while the Sedins praise all his accomplishments of his storied career, the fans will cheer for what could of been. - K-man25
You do have a point.
Maybe PA likes collecting picks so he can trade them to piss off Drance.

That’s exactly what I’m saying, he’s trying to build a pool through various measures. He’s done well for only being in the job just over a year.
Furthermore, you didn’t say it isn’t their priority, you said “they don’t care about drafting” which is complete nonsense. |

All good. Just messing with you.
I think you may be on to something, we can’t control what our teams do. Just hope they pick a lane and stay in it. - K-man25

Oh my God, you’re so dumb, where do you think Lekkermaki and D-Petey came from? Did they not come from the draft? |

you have a point there. He just can’t get it thru his thick skull that you can build many ways at the same time, one of them is thru the draft. |

Really put your ego on, you are really a dumbass. If go back to page nine or so it started when I own the Northwest said we should draft and put all our drafted players on Abby farm team. I said some of our best players were developed outside our farm club ( Petey Hughes Podz Hogs DPetey ) I said I don't think Canucks care about drafting and later followed up with it was not a priority.
I said Abby is a farm team they use mostly for replacing players that need time off. Abbys best players are Hogs Silovs and Rathbone they are not a star filled team. They are getting better and doing things right but there is no priority to fill the team with drafted players.

Vantel, they’ve had one draft, those kids aren’t old enough to legally play in the AHL. Give it some time. |

Thanks for that tip Captain Obvious.. I was thinking they had at least six drafts in Allvin's 18 month tenure.
I said by starting off on page nine or so D Petey is one of my favorite prospects. I am well aware of what PA has done, his trades and also the age limits for drafted players to play in the AHL. |

He seems like a bit of a hardass but he also seems like a good communicator. He’s evolving as a coach. After getting taught by Keenan and Bowman I thought he was a lost cause. |

Well explain how you want their AHL team to have their drafted kids on it then. |

God damn you are dumb. I started off the conversation with I Own the Northwest by saying it was not going to happen or why do they need to do it that way?

Filling the AHL is no teams “priority”, it’s just a development tool for players within your organization. Getting good players, through whatever means, is the priority. I played in the American Hockey League, I know what it’s for. |

This is exactly what I said to IOTNW. They are making a farm team by other means and that drafting players and putting them in Abbottsford was not a priority.
But for the record I think any GM who trades five top three round picks in 18 months does not care too much about drafting and no one will convince me otherwise. I would say on a scale of 1 to 10 he has drafting at a 3 priority. |

His interview put some light to what he thinks about the team. I'd say Petey and Hughes have opened his eyes. He still seems like an Asst coach motivator though. They need someone to get them to be engaged more often but also someone like Brind Amour and teach them better team play and structure. Might be Yeo's job though. |
