Yikes. And alls that I meant by my comment was pointing out how awful the Canucks history of drafting is. Most teams can get 2 NHL players per draft and maybe a 3rd one of the cusp that competes for a job.
But the Canucks historically average maybe 1/year and are one of the worst teams in the league for drafting. Sometimes we have drafts where it’s none. Our cupboards are so empty and our drafting has been so bad with the exception of maybe a handful of drafts the last 20 years, that I don’t think there’s any way this turns around quick without getting some draft lottery luck.
In saying that, I think it’s 5 years before this team is a playoff team, possibly 10 years to be a threat in the playoffs. But I like how active management is. They’re changing this losing/passive/country club culture. One day BC might actually have a NHL team again. - I-own_da-Northwest
It's not just the drafting (which is bad enough on it's own) it's the mismanagement of the cap that's exacerbated the lack of drafted NHL players and forced successive regimes to have to sign UFAs to hugely overpriced deals, most of whom could never have lived up to the contract they signed. And not just UFAs either, it's resigning players like Boeser, Miller, Garland to big contracts when maybe it would have been more advantageous in the long term to get whatever assets you can when they were on expiring contracts to improve instead of trying to stay the course.

As long as FA is in charge, this is the way it will be. You can either accept it, or find a new team. We all know what they need to do, we knew it in 2014. The difference between then and how is our group is lead by guys under 30 instead of over 30. Though ideally we stock up a bit and wait for deals instead of overpaying to force them, losing EP and Hughes could set us back even longer. Look at Edmonton, they got McDavid in 2015 and last year was the first year you could truly call them a contending team. |

Buy low candidate
Garland (one of the top 5v5 producers on the team) for Laf (zero point producer) - NewYorkNuck
Seeing how VAN is interested in reclamation projects yes. Problem is he got 39 points in 81 regular season games. Garland makes $4,950,000, Laf 950,000 will be a RFA. |

Sure but let's cry about Aaron Rome's hit and subsequent punishment from a series 12 years ago. |

You are an idiot
I only watched the 7th game and thought he played fairly well. A change of scenery would do him well and the price should be reasonable
Gaunce best season age 28 - 5 goals
Alex L best season age 20 - 19 goals
Exact same 🤡 |

He looked very slow in a fast series to me, in all of the games. Glad he almost had 20, quite an achievement for a 1oa pick |

Who cares where he was drafted. I (frank)ing guarantee he has a few 30 goal seasons and he is a big kid. Certainly worth taking a chance on. The Rangers (frank) up 90% of their prospects.
Edit. It’s fine having some average paced skaters. It’s not fine having a team full of soft slugs like Brock. Build a team like the original Ice Hockey game for Nintendo |

Laff is still worth a 1st round pick. Kravstov isn’t worth a contract. I hope they don’t bring him back |
