I am going to disagree. If Canucks cared about developing and drafting they would not have traded two top fifty picks. They have filled the farm with more further developed NCAA players and project players.
I think fans have got to stop hoping for something that is not going to happen. That is my take anyways. - VANTEL
Your entire argument is based on 2 top 50 picks but they have done about 15-20 other things that would suggest your narrative that they don't care about development or drafting is off base. |

I am not a Trevor or a Sedin fan for leadership. Wrong person to say this to
As much as JTM is a d1ck I think he is a better leader. Telling OJ to get up he is embarrassing himself and how he didn't coddle Brock is okay. - VANTEL
I liked the Sedins but like Bo was never a fan of their leadership 'traits' so to speak. Linden comes from a much tougher era and I can guarantee you if Bo came up under him it would be a different Bo. My take anyways. |

I need some examples. Also I am not arguing, I was discussing or even debating but certainly not arguing.

They moved the team to Abbotsford to have control over the development of their own players.
Sedin's, Komiserak, Higgins, Samuelsson were added as development coaches.
They may have given away 3 of their own picks but they have gotten 3 back. We have seen Benning, if he didn't want picks, they never came back.
They have signed college free agents that need more development time. |

They have traded a first two seconds a third a fifth and a seventh for a third and three fourth round picks. Does not sound like high picks are a priority.
Sedins Higgins and Samuelsson have how much experience before Canucks? I am still not sure what Sedins title is or what the do?
Not sure but I think Benning brought the farm team to Abbotsford so has nothing to do with new Management.
Signing college free agents supports my discussion as I clearly stated that is the route they are going signing further developed NCAA players and project players such as Raty Kravstov.
All of these things support my statement that Canucks don't put a lot of effort in Drafting and the development of drafted players.

Your argument is ridiculous, at best, nothing suggests they don’t care about drafting LOL. Trading the 18th overall pick for a young right-shot dman does not mean they don’t care about drafting.
The Kings traded the 19th overall pick for Haula last year and the 23rd overall pick this year, you’re suggesting they don’t care about drafting? They finished seventh last two years ago.
Competing and drafting are not mutually exclusive, they can co-exist together. |

Cmon a little levity .. He could have had 7x8 from van and finished something he may have been apart of building, and probably never heard a negative criticism, instead he goes 8.5 mil x 8 in NYC, 🥴[url] |

It was time to change things up, nice kid but he needed to go. The organization needs a culture shift, trading your captain who’s soft and been losing since he got to Vancouver is a good start. |

They have 7 picks going into this draft. They aren't rebuilding.
Benning brought the team but that doesn't mean this new management have to make use of it. They have been using it though.
Every team signs college free agents unless you aren't interested in developing anyone. Then why would they waste the contract slot. Raty and Kratsov still need development, why would they trade for them if they weren't interested in developing them?
I don't expect the Canucks to go super hardcore as you seem to think they are going too. They aren't rebuilding. Management said that. |

Gonna be an interesting summer to see how they address the cap issues, who does or doesn’t get traded, and what they do at the draft. |

I agree, But, I heard him say it early on, he wasn't going to sign here.
What bugs me is his unneeded poke at a FanBase that, for the most part had his back, after checking out on a team he was a CAPTAIN of.
If he had a beef with ownership/management say it, don't slam the team

Man I can’t wait till the draft when we go after Joulevi 2.0 or maybe win and somehow ownership/management justifies taking Leo Carlsson 1st overall over Bedard. - I-own_da-Northwest

Follow the Seahawks draft? - VanHockeyGuy
I couldn’t today, yesterday was on iPad and iPhone, I’m working a capital upgrade project in Ohio at a refinery, no days off until it’s done. Should be done in a couple days. I checked this evening and saw they went for defense today. |
