Tampa is a premiere forechecking team. They probably do it better than just about any other team. There's a reason that they've been to the finals 3 years in a row. Knowing that it was his first playoff series, he now has an understanding what it takes to win in the playoffs.

Leafs are going to either play a top end defensive team in the Bruins, or a hard skating, forechecking team in the Panthers. The Panthers will trade scoring chances, while Boston will try to trap and smother you, taking advantage of turnovers. Both are formidable, but beatable. Boston has lost its cloak of invincibility. Florida has bloodied the Bruins and their centers are beaten up.

A tough, low scoring game on the road to clinch a series in overtime. And against a true championship caliber team.

It's far more valuable than an easy win against a lesser opponent.

And having to win in Tampa, again it's a major growth moment.

Samsonov was out of this world and deserving as series MVP.

Having the Captain score the series clinching goal is epic. So fitting.

Bunting added a spark and Lilly was simply a perfect addition.

It is pretty remarkable how significant this series win is though. Can you imagine? Like, really! A first round win being soooooo impactful?

Of course it is. 19 years in the making. How incredibly remarkable.

So damn stoked they won. Best part was lstening to wish version of Bob Euker from Major League just die when they scored. 🤣🤣🤣

God they were obnoxiously attrocious to listen to. Not as bad as Boston's Jackie boy but close.

Now you see why the Cup will go to an Eastern based team. There really is a drop off in talent from the West, compared to the East. Edmonton may have a premium offense, but their defense and goaltending aren't on the same level.
