Coming back from 4-1 was the curse breaker
- mr.sir

Agree, curse breaker, or if your glass is half full like Zezel's destiny maker.

Take from Leafs postgame show: O'Reilly's finger in a splint again, and was cleaned out on the draws last night. Probably broken again. 😬

I don’t agree with not calling a penalty in a tight game, but there’s no way in hell any referee in the NHL calls that.

“They don’t want to be the ones to decide the game.”

- Atomic Wedgie

Hagel is Tampa's version of Bunting. By observation, refs hate Hagel almost as much as they hate Bunting. He's a whiner and a diver and he's not getting many calls.

Congrats Leafs Nation!

It's about time. This is your 1st Round Cup. Celebrate and enjoy.

Boston starting swayman for game 7. He deserves to start game 7 but what a crazy time to insert him.
- bryant

if that was the Leafs doing the same or similar thing - the Toronto media would roast them for "panicking" ... we'll see how the the hockey media covers this.

at the end I don't care....

what I do care about is... McCabe getting some rest- he looked really gassed out there hope he isn't too banged up... and O'Reilly not being effective in the face off dot - me thinks his hand is injured.

From Jonas Siegel:

The Leafs held the Lightning No. 1 line of Brayden Point, Steven Stamkos, and Nikita Kucherov to two 5-on-5 goals — combined.

Point and Kucherov were each held without a 5-on-5 goal all series.

Wonder if they'll interview Chris Wideman on our win last night. He said we'd get what was coming to us.
- Leafsmart

absolutely Leafs are getting what's coming to them... maybe in 6 or 7 weeks.

so is Wideman... I expect a buyout

I’m not seeing this anywhere on Twitter or elsewhere.

Would explain his dismal faceoff numbers, though.

That was a slick little pass along the boards. He and Schenn were much better than I thought they would be.

Acari carried O'Reilly last night ... i dont' know how many hits and takeaways he had last night... but he just didn't stop all game long.

luv that guy.

Kucherov was -5 or 6 last year. Leafs core really came through in this series

Didn't love Brodie and McCabe with the puck on their sticks but they were dynamite at limiting Point/Kuch all series.

MM may have had the quietest 'MVP' series I've seen in a while.

Yowza!

From capfriendly

"Tampa Bay's 1st RD pick this year will either be No. 19 or 20. However, that pick belongs to the Blackhawks.

The #Lightning don't have currently have a pick in the top 64 until 2025."

Core guys got it done while Tampas core were ghosts. Our F depth was a little lackluster but its cool that it didn't really matter. Knies was underratedly important. Part of all 3 OT goals, and saved a big one off the line too.

Edit to add this fun lil stat for emphasis

True story. During that final shift I say to my daughter. “JT is struggling tonight, he doesn’t even have a shot on net. Watch him score the OT winner.”

5 seconds later…
