What’s concerning for me Pat is that it would be his third team at only 24.
How’s he gonna deal with the adversity that comes from playing in mtl?
Cause there’s plenty of it.. - pete26
is that really a concern? technically he's only asked to be traded once, when he was in CLB, and the reason he might leave WPG is because he'll be UFA, and like any other player at that stage in their career he'll want to figure out what his options are.
slowly this unfounded reluctance is making me want Dubois to sign in MTL more and more

To me, it comes down to... nice to have player, not need to have player (at least at this point in the rebuild).
So if a decent deal can be made and tied to a decent long-ish term contract can be signed, sure.

Otherwise... meh. - Mashadar
yeah, pretty much the same for me, the deal has to make sense for both the player and the team, it wouldn't be very constructive if his contract became another salary cap anchor.

of course, and if he really wants to be a Habs, I have a hard believing he'd ask for 10M per.
something like Suzuki would be just fine.

if there would be more regular salary cap increases throughout the league then perhaps richer teams like the habs could benefit from it and splurge a little more here and there on certain players, but the cap is going up so slowly that you can't base your negotiations around that (I'm pretty sure that's what happened with Price's contract, they thought the cap would continue to go up, in which case his deal would've been less of a financial burden after a few years..).
