Id keep Kakko, theres a certain level of compete there that I think will keep getting better. LAF however, if a team wanted to take a chance on that, Id consider it if it was maybe top 15. Its tough to give up on him, but damn its getting harder to defend him. - aecliptic
Youd be lucky to get a 3rd |

I’m still shell shocked from what product I saw on the ice last night. I don’t understand how you can play that poorly in a Game 7. It’s infuriating that they got so dominated in all areas of the ice last night. Flat out embarrassing and I’m at point where you look to really give these kids top 6 minutes. Every forward on this roster should be open for discussion to be traded. Dreadful & sickening performance. |

There was clearly a collective "we can't compete with these guys" attitude. Akin to surrender. They should strip the C's and A's from their sweaters....find some leaders with more heart. |

full quote from the story:
Drury’s first decision is what to do with Gerard Gallant. It’s believed the GM and coach have not seen eye to eye much of this season, Gallant’s second behind the bench. It would be a surprise to see the Rangers make a change after two successful regular seasons and one Eastern Conference final run, but a firing would certainly show how different the expectations were this season after last season’s surprise final-four trip

I still say there’s no way they fire him. He has the best record of any Rangers coach through their first 2 seasons. I think Gallant wants to play a style that the players don’t want to play (north south). |

So, if I had to pick one and let the other go. I keep Gallant and let Drury go.
Think back just a couple of years ago, the Rangers were the up and coming team loaded with young talent. You could see in their elite prospects a talent pool that would for many years make them a top contender. They had been built the right way starting in goal and on defence.

When Gallant talked about having talent and that it’s great but u also have to work hard and forecheck, I thought of Kane. To me, Kane was a Sather/Dolan move and not a move Gallant wanted. We’ll never know, but that’s my opinion. |

Kane and Tarasenko are likely gone next year, that opens up 2 spots in the top 6. Laf and Kakko have to take those spots and work their asses off in the off-season. No excuses anymore after next year. Put them in a position to succeed and after that it’s on them. I also they think need a different type of 3rd line. An energy line that can hit, forecheck and score. Move Trocheck to the 3rd line and build a line that is difficult to play against. I think Cuylle could be ready by next year so that’s a start for that line.
Panarin is as good as anyones guess. If they can move him, I think they will. If he doesn’t waive his NMC or we can’t find a taker it is what it is, but he’s a gigantic waste come playoff time. |

Think a lot of talent didn't pan out. Kakko and lafreniere aren't anywhere near we thought they would be. Of course kravstov was a total flop. Hopefully sykora othmann and cuylle are ready for the nhl next season. |

Cuylle is the exact type of player this team needs more of. We need to add a few guys with his style of play to this team. I know Othmann plays an agitating game but I’m not sure he’s ready just yet. |

Kreider Zib Kakko
Laf Chytil Panarin (idc he’s on his off wing)
Cuylle Trocheck X
Vesey Goodrow Motte
Of course I’d love if we could move Panarin but we’ll see. |

7 games 0 points for Lafreniere and he was never a factor, not even a small one
it's extremely disheartening

He just doesn’t do anything above average. He’s not fast, he isn’t a great passer, doesn’t have the best shot, not big enough/tough enough to be a power forward, I really still have no clue what he is/will be. If I had to guess, he’ll develop into a 50-60 pt middle 6 player but will never be the elite winger we thought he could be. I wouldn’t be shocked if Drury moved him to be honest. |

The rangers ingredients as a team are not right. Lack speed and 5v5 play drivers. Their lotto picks look like middle 6 players. Only one defenseman that can move the puck on the back end. Last year I was looking forward to the following season. I have no expectations for next year. This team seems destined for mediocrity |

I totally agree there
unless he immediately signs for a 2 year bridge like Kakko did without any hassle
I'd be good next year with Laf and Kakko both making 2.1 million, give them another crack at figuring this out
but it's getting late early around here with their development |

If they’re not traded, they NEED to be in the top 6. That’s it. Period. End of story. If they decided to keep them, they need to put them in the best possible position to succeed. |

It may be too late already. You could tell all series how pissed Igor was with the play in front of him. He only has 3 years left on his deal then is a UFA. Why would he want to come back? It’s not going to get better with the core aging. Once Igor is gone this is a bottom half team in the nhl |

Yep I won’t forgive them for their game 4,5 and 7 performances. Losing is one thing. But not showing up, not working or putting in the necessary effort, rolling over and dying. Embarrassing and unforgivable. With the core aging and having no trade clauses and the kids looking like 3rd like grinders at best, don’t see how there is much hope they will figure it out |

I don’t think it’s as doom and gloom as some are making it out to be. We need to get rid of the soft, lazy, uninspired players and replace them with guys that wear their heart on their sleeve. I’d do whatever it took to get rid of Panarin. And before everyone says it’s impossible, Huberdeau had a similar disappearing act last year for FLA in the playoffs and was signed to almost an 11 million deal after he was dealt. |

Yea but Huberdeau was only 28 and didn’t have any trade clauses to block moves. Panarin is in full control. Him and his family love New York. Why would he leave? It’s just false hope to think he will. |

Panarin isn’t waiving. This team is mediocre until 2026. This was the year. Drury gallant and the players blew it. Just the reality. |

Issue is the rangers now have a bottom 10 prospect pool. Othman looks like he can be decent but not a game changer. All their top 6 players are perimeter players and PP merchants. They have one puck moving defenseman which is another reason they aren’t good 5v5. Also they are slow. If their core didn’t have nmc they could make changes it’s going to be tough
