I'm old enough to remember when that was bottom of the barrel below Milwaukee's Best, now the hipsters have brought it back and made it expensive - Wetbandit1
LoL, I’m always amazed at how popular that crap became.

Just read an article about that. The big fuss only led to a 1% decline in sales. People don't give a poop, despite what the internet tells you. InBev will be just fine. They're so enormous it doesn't matter. - Wetbandit1
At the very top of a congolmerate a 1% drop is pretty impactful in terms of absolute $'s...not market share, as many run to sister brands so the impact is reduced at the higher levels...agreed there.
However, at the individual brand (Bud) level it absolutely makes an impact...21% decrease in sales is pretty friggin big...enough that someone is questioning WTF at that lower, brand level. It sent a signal...maybe short-term but it did.

My Buddies Father used to keep cases and cases or Genny Pounders and Red White and Blue in his cellar. Had some good times in the woods behind Windom Elementary thanks to his Father
That's legitimately debatable.
Friend of mine in school drank red dog all the time - TheSabresTaco
Wasn't Red Dog just bottom of the barrel Bud heavy and Icehouse the same thing with an extra boost in alc %? It's been a while but I think that's what we figured 20 years ago. PBR was $3.99 for a sixer of pounders when I was in college, great deal. Also, at that time south of Pittsburgh, we found a beer call "Jacob Best", which we were all pretty sure was cheap Yuengling and you could get a case for 8.99. You could still find OV back then in WNY and Canada...cheap Molson Canadian. Those were the days.

OV that was big for the PurePlatinum Golf Expedition
Things started getting stronger with the labatt 3X.
7.1 % alcohol.
Game changer. High octane - Boss34
Molson Ice and Labatt XXX were my intro to alcoholism during my early teen years. Beer balls of God knows what. Stealing singles of OV from my grandfather's case in the back hall. Good times! Somehow Meister Brau fit into this as well but things are a bit fuzzy.
