I have no idea what EH projects for Meier's next co tract, assuming it is around $8.5m to 9.5m depending on term...but I would still be inclined to go after him in FA if I was GM.

He checks all the boxes to round out the Sabres top 6, has 995% of what they need as was discussed in-depth 2 months ago.

I'm not fan of FA for high-end players in the vast majority of cases, I still think he is a difference maker. His time in NJ to date has not gone well, that happens at times to players traded at the deadline who have been in one place for their careers, they have a hard time assimilating in short order.

You might find this shocking but I totally agree with this. I would, however, like to think they will still spend some cash to bring in a player of Timo’s caliber. Part of capitalizing on having a great young team on relatively cheap contracts is having the room to bring in a monster or two. I hope they take this route. It still amazes me how much talent we have on the front end. It’s actually ridiculous.
