Honestly used to enjoy them. Kept me in touch with old friends. Helps me shamelessly plug which ever cover or tribute band I'm a member of. Once things got political, I got off of them. People are so stupid, short-sighted, and it's extremely disappointing. Nobody actually believes in or feels the way they project. They just follow whatever society is telling them to in order to fit and blend into the herd. Not an original thought to be found. - glove_was_stuck
All valid points and I couldn't agree more. I have never had any of the big social media accounts and never will. I hear too many complaints about them from my wife and her account(s). |

Gonna be a weird off-season and could be a long painful regular season if Coyle is our 1C.
We have 15 players signed with a projected cap-space of 4.9M. Bruins are (frank)ed

Oh yeah. Pork city. All of which would've been more than forgivable if they didn't poop themselves.
Classic B's though. Things will remain status quo. Same Hockey Ops all the way down. Hopefully change will come after next season.

Its going to be a tough off season. On my list of things that should happen:
1) Buy out Reilly and Mitchell Miller. One is for cap reasons, the other is to remove a poop stain from the mattress of the organization.
2) Trades. Hall, Gryz and maybe one of Forbort or Carlo depending on what offers look like. I would also entertain selling high on Ullmark at this point if the offer is phenomenal. We will see what Sweeney can do here.
3) Resign Bert and Swayman. This needs to get done. Bruins are probably going to have to do a youth infusion with cheaper contracts to round out their bottom 6. I expect to see Lauko full time. McLaughlin, Lysell, Merkulov, Beecher and Lohrei should all be given very hard looks and maybe even a trial by fire to start the season.
4) Resign Freddy. Hopefully they can give him a short bridge contract to see how he does with enhanced responsibilities. As of right now, he projects to be 3C. I honestly dont know how they will find a top 6 center with the cap space they have. Better pray for Bergy again.
5) Pray Bergeron wants to do another year. |

Its going to be interesting to see what sweeney does. Maybe he tries to trade into the second round with Hall and/or other players? I cant see him getting into the first round without dealing Ullmark.
Gut feeling is Krejci is done. We will see though. |

At some point the cord with 46 ands 37 needs to be cut. Love them both but having your top 2 centers over the age of 35 is not a recipe for success.

I thought towards the end of the season that Zacha played very well when Krejci went down. It was good to see some chemistry with Zacha and Pasta so i think he'll be just fine filling the Krejci role.
I am hoping that Patrice still has it in him for one more. He is still very effective and i can't imagine he wants to go out with that playoff performance.
Sign a Michael Bunting since Bertuzzi is likely going for too much term.
Debrusk - Patrice - Marchand
Pasta - Zacha - Bunting/Lysell
Hall - Coyle - Frederic(get him signed)
Lauko - Mclaughlin - Greer
I would like Clifton back but he might be gone. He had one poop stain of a playoff game but he still had a pretty solid year with forbort
McAvoy - Gryz
Carlo - Hampus
Clifton/Lohrei - Forbort |

I would rather not have Bunting. If Sweeney can manage to offload and Hall, Bert becomes affordable. Make your third line Frederic - Coyle - Lysell. This would requrie freddy to learn the left side which I am willing to bet he can.
or move Lauko up to play and move freddy down. Got some options there. I think you make moves to keep Bert, even if that means Hall and Gryz need to go. |

It’s tough. Bertuzzi has legitimate injury concerns and I don’t think that gets any better with age. I’m fine with moving Hall to keep him, if you can. Bunting can play with high skilled players and still mix it up. Very similar career trajectory to Marchand.
I also seem to be undervaluing the contract Bunting might get... I was assuming 3-4 million, not 6 million. |

Not sure what bunting will get to be honest. His antics I would hope would improve with better coaching but I am not optimistic on that point. Not a fan of the cheap side of his game. Not that marchand doesn't provide the same type of stuff, but having two might land the team in the box more often than we care for. Its a tough call, but if there is a way to keep Bert, I would prefer Sweeney pursue that option.
Injuries are a concern, the last string of them were the two broken hands. I agree its a concern, but I think he still has a few good years in him to contribute. |

Ideally, they can keep him. He had chemistry with Pasta but at this point I am assuming he is all but gone. Lots of risk in signing him for 7-8 years.
I feel like something is brewing with Winnipeg. PLD would be nice. Schefiele, i would avoid.

If they land PLD, i just hope he can settle in and not female dog about the team he plays for. Second team now he has refused to sign an extension with. Not a huge fan of players who do that crap but maybe he can change my mind. If Lysell and/or Lohrei are part of the package for PLD, do you do it? Curious how they would land him.
Its been very quiet though right? I would have expected the buyouts to happen by now. |

I agree. It's not a good look that he's ready to move on from Winnipeg but something is off up there. I might be at the point where Lysell could be available for the right player. His stock in the last 12 months has fallen. |

Hmmm. Perhaps you're right. I dont see Sweeney landing a top 6 center without a prospect like him as a part of the package. Was there an official rumor about the Jets or is it one of those "might make sense" kind of scenarios?
Its too quiet in the B's front office right now. Something needs to happen. |
