I don't know if he recently bought into it. I think he's always stuck that he wants to draft/develop skill/talent and trade for the grit because it's easier.

Foligno was a failed attempt at it but this is the first year he's gone all in.

and I dont think that is what got them over the hump, TB pretty much outplayed them a large chunk of the time...basically a bit of luck, some power play goals..and maybe not getting a penalty at a crucial time or two.

I came out of self-imposed exile to congratulate you bunch of tortured phucks for breaking the curse and taking the torch from the Lightning. It was long overdue.

I've watched Briesbois' cap games catch up to him. When Cernak went down, I knew that D was phucked. Without McDonagh and with multiple rookies and no-names on the backend, it was not going to be pretty.

Trading an entire draft's worth of picks for Jeannot obviously did not pan out. Now the Lightning are in the long slow decline of the Pittsburgh Penguins - a few aging elites surrounded by rookies and has-beens.

Goalies are voodoo. Conn Smythe Vasi didn't show up and the Leafs put him in front of the firing squad.

I figured it would be the Leafs year, based on how the regular season went. Lightning were average this year. And the Leafs improved their roster while Tampa's withered.

Usually I root against the opponent that eliminated my team, but I gotta root for the Leafs this year. I've watched you guys suffer over the years with one playoff embarassment after another, and I think it's great you guys slayed the demon.
