since it's being said that Drury and Gallant had issues, I wonder if they saw eye to eye on Kane's acquisition, I'd love to hear more on that - jimbro83
I’d take a guess and say no, especially based on Gallants comments after the game. Gallant likes hard nosed players that get into the dirty areas and play north south. Kane is the exact opposite of that. When we got Kane I said u can have 1 or 2 of those players on a team and still be successful, but we already had more than that and then added another. |

oh wow - jimbro83
Pull the trigger, Gallant showed why he’s been canned by Florida and Vegas, zero adjustments, too hands off, maybe we can get Kane to stay on a team friendly deal, same with Tarasenko |

realistically I think if Panarin can be traded looking to Anaheim may be the place, they have the cap space, they have Strome, and they may end up getting Bedard
Panarin and Bedard could be something if they wanna make a big splash - jimbro83
Realistically what would a trade look like?
I can't see breadman being traded |

Give me cap space and nothing else. I’m done with him. Comtois for Panarin, adds 9 mil in cap space, done. |

Once gain this team suckered me in and raised my expectations only to be dropped on my head. This one stung a little more because of how the team just gave up and played so poorly.
Im not sure how they proceed now, there will be a lot of meetings taking place thats for sure. |

Also if we'rwe talking about firing people then they should go full clean house.
Drury, Gallantt, Gallant's staff, the skills coaches, the video coaches, scouting etc.
Only guy who gets to stay is Benoit Allaire. |

don't even know what to say re: the poopshow of a team, but just wanted to say thank you to Jan for another great year on the blog. it's my favorite place to come talk rangers online and Jan's the driving force behind it.
it was nice to take a year off from the draft but we may need to circle back to that |

Panarin is going to be 32 with still 3 years left. He has full control and I don’t think anyone is touching that contract. I really think it’s a waste of time to talk about Panarin trades. Just don’t see it as possible |

Jan, thanks for all your blogging throughout the year especially during the season. Definitely top notch.
Can't say I'm too surprised. The Rangers compete level is not there for whatever reason. I agree with TPC this core won't do it. Congrats to the Devils, they could have folded after the first 2 games, but came back and severely out played the Rangers 4 out of the next 5 games. They deserved to win this series the Rangers didn't. |

Thanks for another season of great coverage, Jan. I wish the team could emulate your work ethic and passion for the game and franchise.
I am completely hollow today. I entered yesterday lacking any real faith the team I pour my passion and time into would represent themselves the way they needed to. From there, received the news that my mother has inoperable cancer, which lead to losing my mind on the internet for all to see. Then cap it off with a performance to drive home just how truly inconsequential cheering for this team is. So many better things I can spend my time and energy on. So, I think I will.
Best of luck to you all. - Tonybere

Yea devils are a good team, not embarrassing to lose to them. But the way they lost, laying down and rolling over. Like you said compete isn’t there. Just don’t see it in this core |

silver lining is that we have our next 3 first round picks, and just a small cap penalty next year
look at Boston, the picks they traded and they have a 4.5 million cap overage penalty next season
WOOOOF

No offense to Drury he was handed a roster with a a lot guys who can't be Traded. But Gallant was his hire. His moves this year are on him. They clearly have scouting issues (Cough cough the younger players.) Jed Ortmeyer being the skill development coach. LOL. Like don't wussy foot around. Either go in 100% or do nothing. |

When Gallant talked about having talent and that it’s great but u also have to work hard and forecheck, I thought of Kane. To me, Kane was a Sather/Dolan move and not a move Gallant wanted. We’ll never know, but that’s my opinion. - nyrangers9479
Your obsession with Patrick Kane is wild. Do you even watch the games or do you just wait til Kane comes on, get close up to the TV and log every step he took? |
