exactly, considering we're in cap hell we need cheap players and that's what they are, no matter how disappointing they've been - Mtlca66
if it's not a contract hassle and Lafreniere willingly accepts a two year 2.1 million a year deal like Kakko got, no fuss, they may as well just do it, unless somebody blows them away with an offer of some solid draft picks
if Lafreniere thinks because he was #1 overall his 2nd contract should be big bucks, move him |

Cpt pretty much said what I was thinking. They're cheap and I wouldn't totally rush to declare them a bust, although it doesn't look promising. They'd be sold for relatively nothing. - eichiefs9
Listen, I get it. Logically what you two are saying makes sense. What also makes sense is the Rangers will rush to judgment on anything they can legitimately trade. This isn't largely Chris Drury's team. He didn't build the majority of it. |

Totally. As if the $$$$$$ isn't enough? If you're going to give a player a NMC the $$ should be lower. - Fenrir
I dont know how they can do anything, the NMC kill those trades and we arent trading the few kids we have. |

After a solid 24 hours of pain I’m starting to come back to reality. Would it really be a horrible thing to run it back one more time? This was an extremely difficult series to lose after being up 2-0 BUT man the Devils are good. Rangers need to get faster no doubt but I’m just trying to think that first of all nobody is taking Panarin but if we were to move him are we really better off without him?
I still believe this team has the proper core moving forward and just ran into a team that played better. I know that’s an extremely hard sell to the fanbase right now. I saw a Rangers team that really struggle with pressure and expectations. Game 3 turned the series obviously and the pressure mounted. I kinda compare it to Carolina last season. Maybe Othman can turn into next years version of Mercer from the Devils.
Last years team kinda took us all by surprise with how far they went. Don’t think anyone expected them to go to the ECF. This season they played a team who had an unbelievable season and woke up in the playoffs. It stings with how they lost and how lethargic they were in game 4,5,& 7 and for those reasons the only thing I would consider changing is the coach. Whether we think Gallant is the problem or not sometimes a coaching change is just necessary at the right time.
Have a blessed day guys. - Awolff9
I will never forgive them for rolling over and dying in games 4,5 and 7. I can take losing but not looking disinterested and refusing to Put in the effort. If they roll it back fully we will be having this same discussion a year from now. I have no faith they will figure it out |

totally agree. it they didn't pack it in for 3 entire games including a game 7 and actually looked like they cared then sure bring it back. But they didn't, so blow it up |

Also that is where I'm kinda at, logically.
Can't trade: Panarin, Kreider, Zibanejad, Trochek, and Trouba.
Won't trade: Fox and Shesterkin.
So that leaves: Goodrow (15 team NTC), Miller, Lindgren, Schneider, Chytil, Laf, Kakko, Vesey, and Harpur. Gotta think 2 or more won't be coming back from this list. |

Yep, I mean I know they can’t blow it up. But they need to make some changes to the core if they can. Need a new personality and style to shake things up. The lack of effort makes me think things are to comfortable for them. Time for a wake up call |

I have no expectations for next year. Not excited about the team at all. Can’t even watch panarin skate in blue. |

depending what happens this off season, i think i'm at the point where i'm not devoting much viewing time to this team until they're deep in the playoffs. i'm sure i'll watch games, but gone are the days of watching all 82 games and wasting my time when i can be doing something that actually makes me happy |

i think the worst part is, i had much lower expectations than most of you guys. I thought last year was very lucky/was bought in to being a true contender and didn't think we would beat the devils. even expecting that disappointment this post season was worse than any i can remember. like TPC, this one broke me |

Honestly move Panarin and my outlook could change. His east/west soft play has been injected to this teams dna. Need that gone to maybe see the light on the other side. I applaud him on his regular seasons but need a new style of play |

It’s how they lost and that they can’t do much of anything to fix it.
Panarin still goes down as one of the best FA signings for the regular season. He’s just a ghost and choke artist in the playoffs. He has to go |

Do we really have the proper core?? Panarin has been a no show for 3 playoffs, Mika didnt show up this season, Trouba wont be breaking any speed records, VT and Kane are gone, Goodrow is over paid for how he is played. The whole team packed there bags after game 6.
Problem is they cant trade anyone because of the NMC and the few kids they do have KK, Laf, FC, Miller you just cant give up on because then you will be back to square one again. I think they can only do a few roster changes and hope the team plays better in the plyoffs next season. The only major change can would be to fire GG

He wont be going anywhere, he has the NMC. I think a new voice behind the bench to adjust his style of play might be what is needed |

Laf, 2023 1st, mid pick or mid prospect for caufield.
Buy out trouba
Sign defensively responsible replacement for trouba for half the cost
Name kreider captain
Resign vlad, mikkola, and miller
Othmann and cuylle (maybe sykora) make big club
Get a better coach

But also you have to be smart about it.
No cap before 2005. Teams like Dallas, Detroit, Colorado and New Jersey were smart about it. Vancovuer, Toronto and The Rangers could never figure it out. The only 2 forces actually stopping that are the League and the owners. - tomburton99
