I think #1 and #2OA picks showing little growth is reason enough to fire him. If 1 of them had broken out and the other hadn’t, okay. But both being where they’re at is inexcusable.
Layer on the many moments of no team identity and the 3 no shows this playoff, I think it speaks for itself. Team needs a different voice and approach. - TC88
That maybe be true my point is the choices that are available right now are imho not worth hiring.

They haven’t developed as hoped. But who else we’d they taking at that time? Not in hindsight but when evaluations were being done then. Laf and Kakko were the pretty much consensus 1 and 2 at the time. - airjan23
For sure, you're not wrong. It's also not like the time we drafted Dylan McIlrath instead of Taransenko or whatever. These guys were supposed to be layups.
Lends the question too of, how many years do you give a top prospect before they make an impact?
I think Jan or someone else posted this before, but this is a good listen. Friedman says that after one of the games that there was screaming behind closed doors. I'd love to find out more if that was the players, the coaches, or even higher up.
Steve Valiquette on Alexis Lafrenière: "You know what he needs? He needs a summer in the gym. He needs to put his golf clubs in the closet, and he needs to dedicate everything he has to hockey, and then he'll know for himself what he is at this level next year." #NYR

Regarding Gallant, I think they probably haven't fired him yet because they're waiting to see how the Quennville situation plays out. Thinking if Q isn't re-instated by the league, they may hold onto Gallant for another year.

You know what else they need?
To find out what they actually have in him and Kakko.

Why the hell would they want Quenneville?!?! - BINGO!
Several reasons. I think they're looking to make a change because of the way things went down obviously.
Plus it's New York. Dolan likes big names. And Panarin played great under Quenville in Chicago. Maybe he can help him get his head out of his ass in the playoffs.
