There is really only 1 legit Cup contender knocked out - Boston.

But many in the media are acting like all the favourites are gone now.

Colorado lost Kadri, Landeskog, then Nichuskin, with Makar playing banged up. I personally thought they would beat Seattle, but then get demolished by Dallas.

Tampa was not a contender. Most of their depth was wiped out.

NYR looked good on paper, but that was not a balanced roster. Instead of Tarasenko AND Kane, they should have added more grit or help on defense. A guy like Bertuzzi would have been a better fit than Tarasenko and Kane. I had NJ beating them and was surprised it took them 7 games. Though they did win 4 of the last 5 once they got their nerves settled.

I actually agree pretty much word for word with this. If Carolina were healthy, they would have been by far my favorites. Though I would have had Colorado from the west if healthy as well. I'm going to stick with Vegas over New Jersey.

Svech tores his ACL right before the start of the playoffs and TT broke his hand in the 2th or 3rd game which required surgery so both are out for sure
