also the leafs have added a bit of grit but the panthers remain the more physical team, not an easy matchup for sure. - Pat1993
I don't know how everyone discounts a team that just knocked off Boston. They didn't do it by accident.

and they did it despite having Paul Maurice as their head coach, that's pretty impressive.

kinda hard to ignore the booins' record-breaking regular season lol - Pat1993
sure, but the experts keep bringing the standing and the gap in points between Toronto and the Panthers. It was the same thing with Boston.
They used to pay way much attention to how teams were doing in the 2nd half, cause they knew those teams would be hot coming into the playoffs.
They noticed the Oilers got hot after the deadline, but not so much the fact the Panthers did way better in the 2nd half. The regular season standing is misleading as (frank).
Anyway, Im not an expert and I did call that one. |

yup, especially when you look at the numbers, for some reason the odds for the president trophy winners to win the cup are very low. |

Toronto can win this for sure, but not sure how this should be an easy series for them either. |

thats a big reason I was wondering why so much people were willing to give them the cup that easy. The history was there.
To be fair, their goaltending was way better during the season as well. And Bergeron did not start the series and played hurt ( most of them do at that point, but still). |

it was probably the "record-breaking" part, they had such a good season it made people forget about the odds.

we surely would have a record for goals lol
my first assesment of the playoffs was that TOR was just good enough to beat a tired TB team, and then would be crushed by BOS.
change of plans, it will be FLA. but the same result is to be expected imo.

That might be the coolest match up on paper
Seattle getting to the finals could be a fun story, but McJesus vs Mathews would be the poop. It would be really canadian. |

I don't see why you think it'll be that easy, the laffs don't have a bad team either, but ok. |
