Nylander needs to get it going.

Yup, he's been a potato. Fine, but just kinda filler. He's getting space ..needs to be better.

He's been excellent. I don't know what you're seeing that I'm not, but he is carrying the puck, distributing the puck and has his wheels tonight.

Matthews needs to bury his chances - he's 0 for 3 in golden opportunities, but otherwise has been excellent at puck management and distribution.

Marner has looked dangerous. Knies has looked dangerous.

O'Reilly looks good.

Christ, I saw Kerfoot throw a hit. KERFOOT!

Tavares has had a couple of chances but needs to step it up and be more of a factor. Acciari can be a bit better with the puck. ZAR has been below average in his atonement game.

This game is winnable. Florida got two quick, it looked bad for a hot second, like another game 1 disaster and then the Leafs got two back and steadied the ship. 20 more mins to go. Lots of time.

I haven't Iiked Nylander at all. Just too tight with the puck. He gets the puck and then the play dies. Its very un-Willy.

Willie's skating and entering the zone level is easily top10 in the league

Meh, they're controlling the play, getting tons of chances... Sammy looks human tonight though.

Sammy seems to really really struggle with traffic. Sammy without traffic is damn near invincible (aside from that third goal - that's the near part)

I think he's trying to setup a bit too much, he's had some lanes to the net and opted to turn back and look for someone who isn't there. Otherwise, I agree he's looked pretty good.

I was floored when he beat the dman out of his socks and then declined to take the path to the net, instead waiting for someone to catch up and play the perimeter. That's pre covid Willy. Might be getting in his own head a bit 🤔

ROR and JT have had trouble keeping up with the pace a few times. Agree with the rest. Great stuff from Morgan again.

Yes, I think the critique is that tonight after his zone entries, he's been lacking ....usually you expect his drive wide and circle the net (losing the D) or the stop up and elite pass to find a shooter.

He's looked out of sorts in the OZ. He went wide that one time ...turned and the D lost his skates ..he had a gymnasium sized hole to the net and instead he curled high and waited for something and ended up turning the puck over.

We need 3rd period Willie.

I agree, he has had a few clear lanes to the net but pulls up looking for the pass.

I thought they both looked poop in the first but picked it up in the second. Whole team looked a bit better but those two guys seemed to be able to find space in the second rather than always chasing the play.

Time to tone down the defensive pinches. Get this one tied and take it from there. We've had a lot of good looks. Matthews is getting close.

Waited way too long to shoot, earlier he had a wide open path from the circle to the net and opted to wait and pass backwards

To you - and the others - I realized after I said it that I was impressed by his puck work and skating, but he wasn't shooting. He absolutely needs to uncork some shots. He has a laser.
