So mathematically the Leafs are in the better spot

Toronto needed to play Boston IMO. Go from that high of finally winning round one and facing the best regular season team in NHL history. No pressure right? Now they have a clear path to the SCF and betting favourites to win the cup, and playing a wildcard team.

The 19 year drought means absolutely nothing if they lose to the panthers right now. This is their moment. Right now

Technically that was the leafs 7th game of the playoffs. Probably should’ve known they would’ve lost.

Ya, florida capitalized on the leafs mistakes. Leafs had plenty of opportunities and just weren’t able to execute. The powerplay looked great just couldn’t score.

Tkachuk played almost 21 minutes. He netted three assists. He drew two penalties (one of them negated by a goal, the other a phantom hook on Mark Giordano). He threw a game-high nine hits.
