Bob's a wierd goalie. I could see him letting in bad goals for the rest of the series, or standing on his head. Used to have him in fantatsy and it drove me nuts. - david22
I think its more we'll see both sides of him all series long.
Panthers do not do him any favours either, that 1st game they had more room then every single TB game.
Leafs will get their chances and I choose Leafs shooters over Bob more often then not.
Matthews had some point blank chances...if you keep letting him do that its going in. |

Shouldn't have been a lot of drama. It was a close and good game. Very few shenanigans and the Leafs only had their own few, but costly, mistakes to blame for the loss.
I'm honestly surprised in a series with Tkachuk, Gudas and Bunting that nothing happened - AdamFrench

Obviously I don't know how much crap you guys deal (dealt) with, but I'd be surprised if there was much after yesterday's game. It was a solid game. We came up short but we were very even with them at 5v5 and our power play was lethal but didn't finish.
Outside of a couple crazy good looks in rapid succession by Florida in the later half of the first where Sammy was heroic, I thought the Leafs were the better team.
To emphasize that, and to look at Santo's point about Bobrovsky, he entered the Boston series in game 5.
Game 5: xGA: 4.32, GA: 3 net: +1.32
Game 6: xGA: 3.28, GA: 5 net: -1.72
Game 7: xGA: 2.83, GA: 3 net: -0.17
Last night: xGA: 4.46, GA: 2 net: +2.46
He was superb last night, but I'm not sure he has shown that he's lights out in the playoffs with any consistency through 4 games. |

Sammy is the better goalie...but even he has had a couple bad games.
I think we can fully expect a few bad games from him and its up to the leafs to light him up.
If they let Matthews shoot like that they are going in. |

Agreed on Bob being unpredictable, I'm hoping for the Bob who sharts the bed but we didn't see him last night.
As far as how many troll comments, there were a lot that I used to delete but I have no sense of how many are deleted anymore.
Case in point about them being here is there are a few today from (of all teams) Boston fans
Yes Boston who just took the crown for all time choke jobs.
And I think I saw a Phily fan - Philly?!
And of course the resident village idiot from the Sens fanbase had to come get his window lick in.

All things being equal, Matthews buries a couple of those, Tavares doesn't heel the one-timer 12 feet wide, Nylander rips off a couple of better shots on the rush . . . Brodie doesn't have a colossal brain fart. It was a close and good game. I didn't like the result, obviously, but at the end of the game I wasn't really upset. They didn't f* the dog, they didn't fail to match the effort of the opposition, they didn't look cowed or intimidated in any way. I thought refs were largely good. Florida has a number of grittier guys and you can't (they won't no matter how much Maurice whines about disparity) call everything. It should be a good series.

Nylander also realizes he has a clear lane to the net after undressing the panthers player in an alternate universe
Also a lot of sneaky good tips from Matthews that just didnt go in but then the Knies tip goes in on us.
If the games go like that and the leafs make a few adjustments I am super confident this ends in a Leafs win. |

Erasing a Habs regular season record takes some of the sting out of it. But not much to be honest.

Have you listened to the Bill Burr podcast after that loss? It's good, it might help you process.
My advice as a suffering fan is to feel the feelings fully and share them with people who have had similar experiences.

I agree. One of Auston’s shots went off the top of Bob’s stick. It was a weird game. Leafs were making their zone entries so easily it almost seemed that they didn’t have to bear down and could just work the perimeters (some of them). It was tougher in there vs TBL but they seemed to work harder once in the zone.
They could probably do a better job exiting their zone and maybe get to pucks for retrieval a bit quicker. Rielly-Schenn were good.
Weirdly I thought they played better than they did vs TBL and nothing made me think we’re (frank)ed. At same time though, nothing makes me think it will be an easy series. |
