give it time...Gudas will hurt someone - Symba007
Since the very beginning, Tampa has never avoided signing dirty players. In the early years, Tampa got everybody's discarded enforcers. Basil McRae, Mike Hartman, Rudy Poeschek, Enrico Ciccone, Sandy McCarthy, Xenon Konopka (sp?!?), Darcy Tucker (not an enforcer per-se, but definitely a poop starter), etc, etc. Probably several more I am forgetting at the moment. Gudas was just another on a long list.
I vomited in my mouth a little bit when they signed Perry. And I used to like Maroon's gimmick, but it's getting old now.

Habs won everything that year.

I agree. One of Auston’s shots went off the top of Bob’s stick. It was a weird game. Leafs were making their zone entries so easily it almost seemed that they didn’t have to bear down and could just work the perimeters (some of them). It was tougher in there vs TBL but they seemed to work harder once in the zone.
They could probably do a better job exiting their zone and maybe get to pucks for retrieval a bit quicker. Rielly-Schenn we’re good.
Weirdly I thought they played better than they did vs TBL and nothing made me think we’re (frank)ed. At same time though, nothing makes me think it will be an easy series. - Canada Cup
I don't think it's going to be an easy series either. Florida has scoring power, speed and physicality. Probably their largest weakness is unpredictability in net. Yesterday Bob was very good. I think we have better scoring power and can match the speed and physicality. I think our offense from the back-end is better than theirs, but that's not to say that Montour is a slouch. He has better head-to-head numbers this year, just not historically.
As we've seen for years and years - there's no guarantees in the NHL playoffs. |

My gut is telling me that NJ and TO come out of the East.
I have no idea about the West. Would like to see Yanni Gourde and the Kraken go on a Cinderella run.

No complaints from last night. AM and Willy will get the lasers locked on in short time.
Not a goaltender on this planet can handle AM 34 when he gets 'er dialed in.
Looked like the gang was still dealing with a bit of euphoria from the win on Saturday.

Technically it's the same, but specifically you're right. It's the points percentage. Total Points / Total Possible Points.
Edit: And I'll further caveat that I started after expansion - so 1968 onwards. Prior to that hockey was 2 rounds in the playoffs (hence the 8-armed octopus they throw in Detroit - one for each required win). |

Back then the only question regarding the Habs was whether they would lose a game in the playoffs. The cup was a forgone conclusion.
It was terrible hockey though, I don’t know why people complain about the parity of today, I guess they’re too young to remember the monotony of the same team winning year after year. |

The change is leaflands mentality is crazy. I’m still confident but a win last night would’ve been nice.
I was also shocked to see nylander had 7 shots on net and Matthews had 6. For the critique on nylander he still had a lot of shots when it seemed like Matthews was firing from everywhere last night. |

Erasing a Habs regular season record takes some of the sting out of it. But not much to be honest. - Nasty_Duck
Except there is a * there since the Habs didn't get the benefit of any loser or ot points.
But look on the bright side the Bruins do own and/or share some exciting new records with no * beside them:
Blowing a 3-1 series lead and falling 4-3 to the Panthers tonight, the #NHLBruins pass the Maple Leafs for the most Game 7 losses by an NHL franchise (15), the Capitals for the most Gm7 home losses (10) and tie the Caps, Flames and Avalanche for the most Gm7 home losses in OT (3)
