Yep. Agree with all of this. I can't really remember when the coach/GM/owners would usually address the media...has it been a longer-than-usual period of silence? Maybe they are really going to shake things up. I'm under the assumption it'll still be Lou's show and that he's more interested in adding a piece or two to go for it than trying to reset the whole thing. - UIF

I'd take Tarasenko. I feel like our best opportunity to retool was the trade deadline, and with that opportunity behind us and not much left to flip for picks/prospects/young talent, maybe we should just ride the "go for it" train to the last stop at this point. - UIF
I don't think they can. There isn't much left to trade. I liked L&M bringing in Lou. Let's face it, he gave up the near future for a mediocre team. They are stuck smack in the middle right now.
It's time for a new vision. |

Well, he did get lucky enough to have Lee drop into his lap in late rounds. He also got lucky enough to have Barzal drop into his lap.
We can trash his abilities, but the man has incredible luck.

I mean, I guess in some ways we're still kind of watching it
Barzal, Lee, Nelson, Pelech, Pulock, Bailey, Cizikas, Martin, Clutterbuck, Mayfield...even Sorokin!
I've always said if the man could have just swallowed his pride and hired a coach who would overshadow him as the brains of the operation, his teams may well have made a good run or two. |

It could have been very different with a good coach. It's very doubtful it was a money issue that prevented hiring a good coach. It's incredible this is still very much Garth's team.

I guess I look at it the opposite way...there's nothing really to tear down and rebuild at this point since so much is locked up in big, immovable contracts. They can declare a new vision, but what's the next step? Maybe they can make some moves around the edges, but the core isn't going anywhere...the players who don't have NTCs pretty much have them by default based on the years/dollars they're owed. So, it'd probably be at least two, maybe three years, when some of the contracts come off the books, before any really big changes could begin.
In the meantime, they might as well make the most of those two/three years and try for another run or two? |

If the Islanders want Lou to come back, what length of contract do they even give him? Just feels the perfect time to move on if his contract his up.

So Chicago loses Kane and Toews and now get Bedard. Gotta take care of the original 6 big TV market teams. The NHL is so predictable. |

The deserve it after putting up with Kane and then trading Kane to the Rangers to wreck their season.

Until or unless they televise the lottery drawing, you can’t convince me it’s not rigged. The math doesn’t work. |

But how? I'm not not attacking you UIF, but I don't see a way they can do that. They don't have much trade bait. Unless you count Sorokin which I would guess that all here would say is off the table. |

He wanted a Yes Man. I feel like he was making line up decisions and Capuano and Weight just went along. |

I do not see a way either Jimmy. I hope they are not moving next year's #1 as well. I thought the smart move was to keep this year's #1 and get a look at Raty decide how to move forward this offseason.

Yeah I could see a Canadian Team getting a bone but I think Chicago is just to big a TV market. |
