I'd rather a new GM. I'm afraid that Lou will just keep trading draft picks. - JimmyP
That’s easy. Don’t allow him to trade anything unless it’s approved by Ledecky and or malkin if that’s an actual issue for them. I hope it is. I just don’t see what can be done this season. I’m hoping we see improvement from a player like Dobson and improvement from our vets like Palmieri(I know he was much better down the stretch and in the po’s). Maybe Wahlstrom surprises, Horvat finds his game, etc. Maybe we find a way to bring on a player like tarasenko. That’s all best case scenario stuff and I’m not really sure what it makes us if it happens. Either way there doesn’t seem to be a heck of a lot we can do this upcoming season so I’m kind of indifferent to it. Love to be surprised but I far from expect it. With that said if he were fired I’m not sure how surprised I would be but I’m not expecting it. |

No way Lou is staying if he needs L & M's approval on trades. I'm not sure on Tarasenko after his Ranger run. I rather role on the dice on Wally for a year and find out about him once and for all. The one thing is a new GM would not have a ton of pressure this year with very little Cap and no #1 pick. Maybe this needs to be a year to evaluate as many young players as possible? |

Devils PP is now 1 for 23 VS canes. That’s a pretty potent PP held in check by Carolina. Not saying Isles PP doesn’t need help, but I will say the aggressive PK that the canes run is very effective. |

Yep you’re probably right on that but then they move on if it were an actual thing to begin with. As far as the second bold goes I can care less whether they have any pressure or not. Pretty irrelevant to me either way. Starting a retool/rebuild this season makes little sense to me. That opportunity passed imo which sucks more because of Sorokin maybe being set up for what may be a bad season for the team in a contract year. Hopefully not we shall see. |

1-23 is not good at all, but the Devils get a pass if they lose the series. They are a very young team and just winning a round is huge. Now next year they need to win two rounds.

Islanders cannot make management decisions based on this offseason or Sorokin. If
L & M feel there is a quality GM candidate available, they need to make a move now.

They have a great PK they don’t give any team time and space but like you said it doesn’t mean that our PP is ok. |

Yeah I’m just saying they were a top 10 PP in NHL and struggling vs canes PK. I’m surprised they got past the Rangers to be honest. |

They damn well better make decisions based around getting Sorokin signed. That is priority number 1 next season. They don’t get him locked up and we are more then likely (frank)ed for years. Imagine this past season without him. |

Devils will learn so much just being in these playoffs. Have to lose before you learn how to win.

That team as currently constructed is far too soft. I’d assume they make some player adjustments to toughen up too if they want to compete in the playoffs. I know a couple players that would fit right in 😂😂 |

The rangers have some talent for sure but I never bought into last years playoff success. There were so many opposing team injuries that broke right for them with every team they faced primarily being starting goaltenders. Their fan base thought they were contenders. I did not. I did think Kane and tarasenko would be much more impactful for them. Thankfully was wrong about that. With that said I honestly didn’t see the devils coming back from an 0-2 deficit. Playoffs. |

I agree with you that the breaks the Rangers got last year helped them make that deep run. But I thought the devils were too young and soft as currently built to have any impact, so I was a little surprised they came back on the rangers - and won that series. I actually was hoping we would have somehow gotten the devils the first round because of what I said above. |

it's part of the learning process for management and coaching as well. Team already has the toughest thing to acquire which is talent.

Rangers pretty much rolled over after those first two games. The difference between their level of play after those games was pretty vast. I think maybe that Kane trade disrupted the team a bit when they were playing short handed to finish the season. Nothing more then speculation on my part but it seemed to have a negative impact for them. |

I did not like brining in Kane from the start. The failure is Kakko and Lafrenière. Kane should not have even been needed.

Adding both Kane and Tarasenko was overkill and had to be disruptive to the locker room. I don’t think they even traded any players away, so you had guys who worked their asses off all year being replaced by players showing up last minute, that never seemed to gel with the the existing team. Plus, I think I read Kane was playing hurt - if that wa the case than that move was even more moronic. Which is fine with me 😁 |

They remind me of the Avs style of play, but hopefully it takes them a bunch of years to figure it out…or maybe not at all!! |

It's not the same thing, but it took the Islanders dynasty team a while to figure it out.

Very effective PK and their 5v5 play has stifled their offense as well. Very patient team. They wait for you to make a mistake and pounce on it. |
