I knew they were close, but had no idea they were THAT close.
Maybe Semyon will sign for less to stay. 🤔 - Wildschwein
We will see. If it were me I wouldn’t think twice about taking the money somewhere else but these guys have their reasons why they make these decisions and it’s not always the primary concern for them. I guess when you’re liquid for I would guess somewhere around 20 million money isn’t always the biggest motivator. |

I see it’s 1-0 Devils. Not watching but they got the important first goal.
Edit: 5-1 3rd string goalie sucks |

I don’t think I enjoyed a hockey series that didn’t involve the Islanders as much as this panthers loafs series.

So UIF and Potvin called the Devils coming out strong, Kudos boys good call. But Keaner’s Cats are showing some fangs and claws! |

The Leafs disappointing is a guilty pleasure of mine. Hopefully they will continue to deliver. |

I have to agree with you on this. The Cats are playing strong.

Do you think that the Leafs blow things up if they are out in 4 games. I would think something has got to change. Both in Management, Coaching and Players. |

Not sure if they look at getting out of the first round as a successful season? I would think not. If there are changes I don’t think they will be sweeping but I could see them making some roster changes to shake up their top 6 a little bit to accumulate some cap space. I know some Islander fans would like Dubas as our GM but I don’t really understand why. I for one do not. |

I don't know about blowing it up. If the Queafs lost to FLA this round, I think Dubas' seat gets pretty darn hot. Not sure that they would replace him. I think they would want to shake up the lineup a bit. Keefe might be gone, if they lose this round. |

Agreed about blowing it up. I don't want Dubas as the Isles GM. He certainly has put together quite a bit of talent in TOR. Goaltending has, and continues to be their weakness in my opinion. Defense, more accurately, grit, has been an issue previously for them, but I think they addressed that with Schenn and McCabe.

I think it’s possible they cut ties with one of their big guns from the top 6 just to shake the roster up if they get swept. That will give them some wiggle room to add a real goalie and some legit players to their bottom 6. Maybe resign Schenn as well. I would think they have to do something kind of big can’t stay status quo. But again I don’t see them making management changes. Keefe may get canned as well. Who knows but we’ll most likely be finding out in the next few days. |

Just because I feel like stirring the pot a little, here's a question. What do the Isles do this off-season and for next season? Stay the course with the same players, a few tweaks, re-tool or just blow it up(keeping a few core players) and staring over? |

I think there needs to be some changes. We need some help on our wings imo. We’re strong down the middle and in goal. Our defense didn’t have the best season overall but I’m hoping Dobson bounces back. He was the main perpetrator imo. Pulock had a terrible regular season but he was great against the canes. If our D can stay healthy I think we’re good there minus adding a bottom pairing defenseman.
So the most important focus should be to find some wingers to help up front. That to me should have been the focus the last few years as well. That’s this rosters weakness. With all of this said I’m not really sure how we do that with a lack of cap space, available UFA’s, and unmovable contracts? I don’t see much happening unfortunately due to this. Hope I’m wrong. |

Really going to be tough to get a lot done this offseason with the lack of #1 and prospects and Cap room. I hope we hear soon if Lou is coming back or not.

The prevailing sentiment with the big-name media guys seems to be that Dubas will be back and would have been even if they didn't make it out of the first round. Obviously a second round loss, especially a sweep, is still sad given the amount of talent on that team...but that was the talk from guys like Friedman before the playoffs even started. |

Cannot see big Leaf changes after finally winning a playoff round.

On one hand, I could see them keeping Keefe because they finally won a round. But getting swept in the next round would be a real tough look. I wouldn't be surprised if they made a change behind the bench, even if Keefe is Dubas' buddy. |

It's tough to see with the Leafs swimming in money. They do not feel the pressure other teams do to make changes.

I bet a twelve pack that they’d lose. Figured there’s no way in hell they'd win two rounds. |

That is not an entirely accurate statement. Leaf Nation (and it’s mood) carries a fair bit of sway with the organization. If they call for blood, they’ll get it. |

I vote re-tool. |
