That is not correct. Myers played 251 professional hockey games before the 20/21 season when he had his issues. Including 71 games with the Flyers before the 20/21 season. He had a very strong season in 19/20 playing for the Flyers in 50 games. Registering 16 points and was a +17. He looked very promising and had a strong season which led the Flyers to thinking they could elevate him to a higher role and more minutes in a top 4 spot. There was zero evidence that he had an issue keeping up with the play. Mentally or physically.
The situation the Flyers put him, and part of their awful player development, along with the Flyers being a completely dysfunctional team in terms of team defensive play, is what crashed Myers as a player. He lost his confidence and hasn't recovered. Had zero to do with hockey IQ or not being able to keep up with the play mentally. The Flyers ruined him. Plain and simple. That's not a narrative. Just the facts.

You can't post with that much detail due to the fact that you are uninformed and unknowledgeable on the sport of hockey. Also, not a narrative but just the obvious fact.

TB would not have acquired him and immediately extended him to a new contract if he had the obvious hockey IQ issue that some uninformed fans think he has. A hockey IQ issue is easily recognizable to a team with the pedigree and scouts that TB has. The knew it was a confidence issue that he might be able to overcome. Which is why they took a chance.

21 games his first season and was a minus 5. he was elevate before his time yes, but was getting burnt and losing coverage constantly. there is not stat for how many lost coverages occur during a game. following season in 44 games he was a minus 10. not much for a future elite shut down man. again losing coverage on the nightly basis. no longer being able to make up due to his physical capabilities. he started with the nashville predators. then quickly became a healthy scratch. tampa got him in a money saving deal. but then the same thing occurred in tampa with him being a healthy scratch. he's 26 now. and is what he is...maybe a call up.

again why was he waived. you say it's confidence. i disagree as i have been pointing out his blow coverages and whatnot since the 20-21 season. i even had high hopes for him at that time. but his play, lack of anticipation, losing coverage all points to a lower hockey IQ.
