Florida is a better team than they were last year, because they have playoff performers, not just regular season fluff. G, Huber, Weeger, these players are built for the regular season, not the playoffs. Tkachuk on the other hand is to me a top 3 player in the league, in that he will score 40 goals, 100 points, and beat the living crap out of you. I wanted the Flyers to give up the farm to get him last off-season but the bafoon Fletcher was too busy trying to find a trade app apparently. - jd250

You can say whatever you want those two are 1-2 in league regardless of regular season or playoffs. Any other example is just fake news fodder.
So you’re saying tkachuck is the best of the rest? He’s truly not even in that discussion. He is up there in discussion for sure but not at that level. |

This year's version of the Panthers appears to be much grittier (led by Tkachuk) than last year's version. Tkachuk should be the captain cause Barkov is a softie compared to him. Tkachuk is obviously the one dragging them into the fight here. |

When do the Flyers play again? Based on some of the comments on here the past few days I think we really need a game to analyze. Anyway, I wonder if the Panthers are 2023's version of the 2010 Flyers. They underachieved for much of the season and then basically sneak into the playoffs the last day of the season. I'm not a fan of Bob, but gotta tip my cap to him with the way he has been playing lately. Gonna be funny as hell if the Knights and Krackheads end up in the WCF!! The natives will be up in arms if the last two expansion teams are the two teams left standing out west. Watching the Devils the other night I realized how much I still hate that organization. It was nice to see the Canes smother them with their speed all over the ice. Thanks! Now back to your regularly scheduled programming of who has the most inside info on the Flyers organization. Eh what? - Phillywhiteout
There is something to be said for a team that is peaking and has momentum going into the playoffs. Florida has now won 5 straight playoff games. They are a hot team with a top player that is on fire. That's often better than being a team that cruised into the playoffs and took their foot off the gas. Sometimes hard to get it back revved up.

Sort of like “you absolutely should sign a turning 30 year old coots to 8 year deal and build around him”
Despite the “overwhelming evidence “ of…
1) definite expected decline in production
2) guaranteed decline in games played do to age and body breaking down
3) absolute evidence new nhl is young mans game
4) etc etc etc
I’m gonna pound on you for either the next 7 years or until you finally admit just how wrong you are. And expose you as the fraud you are.

One question. How has Bergeron done for the Bruins the last 8 years. Oh, in case you missed it, here is it for your convenience.

You keep making this comment that Fletcher should've acquired Tkachuk. This is not playstation or fantasy hockey. The Flyers did not have the assets to acquire Tkachuk.

why anyone wants to compare ex selke to PB is comical to me. One is a sure fire hall of famer. One, well isn't close.
Not saying you are though many have in the past.

Is this a joke! Not even in the discussion? Really? What league are you watching? Who is in the discussion in your opinion since apparently there is no room for Tkachuk?

You still have no clue after all this time, what my position on Couturier is. No matter how many times I can tell you, you still won't get it.
You also still don't get that my position on Patrick and his migraines was that there was NO information about migraines with Patrick before the draft. No matter how many times that has been told to you. Your desperation is hysterical.
Your four bullet points are poorly thought out and you still don't understand that there are no general rules and each situation is it's own individual case.
Good luck to you on your personal mission. I welcome the opportunity. You're an embarrassment. Your post here proves that you are completely incapable of accurately describing a position someone has offered in the past. You've failed in the past and you will fail again. The only thing you can do is call someone obtuse or a twit. That is the extent of your capability.
The most hysterical and ironic part about it is that you will have no clue that it won't be me that is exposed. It's that you will continue to expose yourself. So, by all means. Bring it on.

My point here is Bergeron and Couts play a very similar game and both are close in all-around production. Also PB came off a career-threatening injury as is Couts currently. I believe the way Couts plays that his contract will age very nicely, similar to how PBs has aged. Unlike say the contract Johnny G signed with Columbus.

It all lies on how he heals from his back injury. |

I think he contract will not age well at all and will be an anchor.
Jonny G plays a finesse game. His contract is likely to age much better than ex selke imo. Not a ton of wear and tear on his body like ex selke.

I don't agree. Florida gave up Jonathan Huberdeau, MacKenzie Weegar, prospect Cole Schwindt and a conditional first-round pick in 2025 to get Tkachuk. The Flyers could have put a competing package together and I think include players that would fit in much better with the style Sutter wanted to play. |

I don't agree. Finesse players don't age well because they eventually loose a step and can get hurt more easily because they typically are on the smaller side. |

It's you that is actually wrong. Tkachuk is no question in that conversation. He had a 40 goal 109 point regular season and is currently leading the playoffs in scoring. |

Calgary acquired a guy off a 115 point seaosn. A dman off a 44 point season. A 1st rd pick. Calgary in win now mode.
so what could the flyers offer? what players would fit Sutters style better? |

yet you think a guy off 2 back surgeries who has a ton of hard mileage on his body before the surgeries will age well. Interesting.
The funny thing is you know the coach will run ex selke into the ground as long as he is coach.

There is no package that the Flyers could've put together to match that. The only advantage they would've had was that their first rounder was higher. Calgary was looking for players to keep them in contention and their focus was not on the future in that deal.
