Canucks are more than equipped to make their own draft blunders. No need to take on others team’s mistakes.

Perhaps, but only if it brings back immediate returns for a position of weakness. Lafreniere isn’t that. I like the kid, I really do, but I personally wouldn’t trade the 11th overall for him. Centers and dmen are the Canucks areas of need.

They've stated they want players that fit with the current core, they will trade picks to achieve that, as we've seen. Why wait around for a 17 year old to maybe develop?

Hardly, their games are nothing alike and Lafreniere is fairly productive for a guy who only averages 14 minutes. Rangers depth at the wings doesn’t give him a lot of wiggle room, that said, he needs to force that issue.

Sometimes maturity and a situation that better suits a player can do wonders for their careers. Sam Bennett found that in Florida.

Tim Stutzle probably should’ve went first overall in 2020, followed by Lucas Raymond and Jake Sanderson. Ottawa drafts so well, or they’re extremely lucky.
