What do you guys think of this smoke abiut trading up.to draft Carlson - neem55
JT to the jackets, then Jackets take Michkov at 11 and end up with a great prospect, a local boy lock n long term and JT would thrive with a play driving winger like Johnny hockey.
Besides Columbus is ready to try to win now, not wait on a Carlsson prospect to develop

Canucks were asking for 2 firsts at deadline for JT, so it would be valued as a 3 1sts for 3rd overall Van, which is fair value, especially if CBJ thinks they can get what they want at 11

If Mitchkov would be free to come next year, he would be a lock #2, but uncertainty contract wise and Russias political issues right now are a big risk.
So CBJ takes Carlson at 3 and then if Mitchkov is still on the board at 11, the trade happens.
It as feasible as any other idea or post I read on this site, and none of can know for sure anyways

The management has publicly stated " major surgery " , so they trade the Captain, a veteran leading scorer in JT, scouting reports have said Carlson and Dvorsky are the most Pro ready centers .
So now we sign R. Oreilly as a 2nd center until Raty develops more and Carlson develops more, and move forward with some fresh faces and new direction to sell to the fanbase

Way too much talent. 6th arizona is the lowest i could.see and thats only if a team decides to go on Reinbacher - neem55
Arizona doesn't even know where they are going to play, let alone who they gonna draft, rumblings that players might not report if it's a lame duck season in a 5000 seat college arena, NHLPA is going to force a move

They were going to play in same stadium next season. The only uncertainty is their future in AZ with no new permanent home. Players report to where the team plays in whatever city it’s scheduled to play to get paid.
This uncertainty and low revenue earnings means they are years away. So with no super star players plus needing a lot more time to sort things out make AZ a perfect fit to draft the young Russian phenom and wait for his arrival.

Costly if at all possible. Carlson is perfect for CBJ. I rather Canucks take Simashev. I hope he’s still available. Watching playoffs he’s the type of big great skating D man they need.
