Good to see the dysfunction has returned to Leaf land.
“Friedman on 32TP: "I heard Toronto's exit interviews were pretty tough, I heard the Toronto players were pretty blunt about what they thought was said and that's something still to work on...he thinks some of the players were really blunt about why it didn't work".” - LeftCoaster

27 picks in the last 3 years? wtf do you think that is re-tooling? They have been rebuilding for years.
Again wtf are you talking about 11 isn't 6th? 6th what? The Canucks don't own 6th. Where did 6th even come into play here? Who the (frank) mentioned 6th?
Do you understand that better players are found higher up in the draft and not later. It's much harder to find a top 6 talented player at 19th than 11th. - manvanfan
6th came from you apparently thinking you get top6 means 11th
Hint: the easiest way to get top6 talent, is to trade into the top6, which is why that is what they are more likely to do that. |

Not the 6th best player in the draft.
A top 6 talented forward. You know a player that is projected to play on the top 2 lines on an NHL team.
A middle 6 is a player that can play on either the 2nd or 3rd lines but wouldn't be a 1st line talent.

No branvan3000, if a player like that slips we should pick them. We need all the skill we can get. |

Hes looked alright, hopefully can come up to abby soon and see what we have. On the right track though! - neem55
I wonder what kind of game he will need to play to make it to bigs? His lack of size is a factor. He’ll have to think the game at a high level and perhaps reinvent himself at the next level. |

A player like what? Did you even read the article on the scouts projections for players?
Really wouldn't be arguing if you actually knew what you were talking about right now. |

I agree. This organizations loyalty to previous players over actually drafting well the last 20 years befuddles me. - I-own_da-Northwest
I did look to see that Allvin did get rid of the longest tenured scout in the org this past summer. Tom Leardon? or something. Still doesn't change the fact that Delorme, Gradin, Chibisov have all been there about 20 years now and scouting has been an issue for a better chunk of that time. |

Ive read many many projections of draft picks, i find central scouting and bob to be the best/most reliable but to each their own! |

But Leafs do care about family
Matthews seems to be a hot topic, where will he land? |

He will re-sign. They would be stupid not to if he wants. What's more interesting is Marner or Willie moving and where to. |

I would say probably he will return but maybe not. He can play anywhere in the states for a boatload of money. He might look at options.
I just seen a proposal on CF. My first thought was no way but if Petey is asking too much. He said Petey to CBJ for the 3OA and LA's first. As I said very unlikely but if EP is asking 11 mil I would consider IMO.

Sources: Dave Nonis will be joining #Flames alongside incoming GM Craig Conroy in a senior management role. Ownership was very impressed by Nonis in interview process.
Belief is Jarome Iginla will also be in the fold in an advisory or consultant role to start.

Yes, they need an overhaul. We’ve missed on most 1st and 2nd rd picks the last 20 years.
Jensen, Gaunce, Joulevi, Virtanen, Schroeder, Hodgson, white, Ellington, Sauve,
Rodin, mallet, Shinkaruk, Lind, Woo, Lekkerimaki.
I haven’t included Bourdon because obvious it was a tragedy
We’ve had only 28 out of 40 picks in the last 20 years and out of that we’ve missed
16 times, with 3-4 players being too soon to tell. Imagine only getting your job right 45% of the time and still having that job 2 decades later it gets much worse when you add in the other rounds. |

It's no secret VAN's drafting and development has been crap for decades.
Almost as bad as their ability to win trades.
