Salary cap in the KHL is 11M per year.

The kid will be making that.

He'll need a big offer to come over in 5 years.

Kaprizov came, Kuznetsov came, Panarin came Romanov came, Radulov came back, Kovalchuk camne back. Russians want to play in NHL there is litterally no exception but every year all the journalists are always: According to my VERY SERIOUS sources in Russia he's signed to a 350 multi-generationnal deals with Moscow. It's just clickbait

If his dad's a swimmer... can we expect the kid to be a "diver"?

Ivan miroshnichenko just signed his entry level contract.

And ended his contract with the KHL.

DURING THE WAR. IMAGINE THAT!

Your point was about the war.

If it's about money, yes, he'll get less when he comes over.

How much more money is Kaprizov making now? I wonder if he regrets all those roubles.

My points are about multiple factors surrounding the kid. The war, his dead dad. His 2 year extension and the $$$$

How does the kid play on a north americann rink?

Hard pass when there are so many great talents available in this deeeeep draft.

I'm not saying draft him at all cost.

Habs need to do their homework, if he's that much better than the rest and they have information that can put these surrounding factors to rest (or ease them a little), go for it.

If you get information that it could easily blow up in your face, go for another guy, I agree.

I just hope it works out and we get him as everything points to him being a special talent.

Can't wait for the EE article when he has his first practice in NA.

A solid ten minutes before Octagon's hockey camp session is set to get underway, Michkov gets the sheet to himself. He saunters down to secure the nets, not wanting to wait for targets. His blades cut the sounds of NHL strides. His shot blisters off the crossbar at NHL speed, transferred from wrist to stick-tape with the ease you expect from an NHL sniper. He dangles, smoothly and precisely. He smiles when Tampa Bay Lightning forward Stamkos steps on the ice, as the two exchange saucers and bullet-paced one-timers before the heavy lifting of intense drills play out over the next hour and a half.

Michkov takes on the drills with determination, aiming to perfect them. It's play, but for Michkov, it definitely looks like work. The others--prolific NHLers like Harvey-Pinard and Nick Suzuki take the opportunity to catch their breath in between the high intensity drill circuits while Michkov hunches over his stick for a second before grabbing six or seven more pucks to shoot. There's a hunger there, and it speaks even louder than the impressive skillset he displays.

By the time these guys are done with this boot camp, the ice needs emergency surgery. Michkov is among the last to step off, no worse for wear.

I just hope they don't draft someone with so much "untapped" offensive side that end up just not being that good.

Whoever they pick needs to be a great player.

Just like with Slafkovsky last year, it's fine passing on Wright... just make sure you do get the right guy.

I'm still not sold on Slaf but last year was a poopty draft. This year there's plenty of guys filling the net, I don't trust a guy like Dvorsky or Moore.

I like Dvorsky. Of course I haven't see him play all that much but he's definetely skilled, has size and looks like a great player to add.

Moore wasn't even the 3rd best player on his team so there's just no way for me at #5.

hockey writers scouting report

The first thing anyone says about Oliver Moore is his incredible speed and for a good reason. In an incredibly deep draft class filled with high-skill centers, he might be the fastest of the bunch. He can get up to top speed in the blink of an eye, and if he’s given any space, he can blow by opponents like they were standing still. That level of speed allows him to dictate the flow of the game, as does his agility. He can spot and turn on a dime and change speed effortlessly, ensuring that no matter what happens, as long as he has the puck, his team will get a scoring chance.

But Moore is much more than just a fast skater. He has a blistering shot with a quick release that’s led to him scoring 26 times this season with the United States U18 Development Program, which puts him fourth on a very skilled team, as well as another eight goals with the USNDP Juniors in the United States Hockey League (USHL). That puts him on pace to hit similar totals to Trevor Zegras or Clayton Keller during their time in the program
