Tanner cares more about having the best analytics than winning when it matters. If it were up to him, they'd play out the regular season and then determine the league champion by some process that only cares about what the analytics say.

Yes, there is a major element of randomness to a playoff tournament and the "best" team on paper doesn't always win. Which is the entire point of sports. It's like he'd just prefer to play the entire season on simulation mode and just gift the Stanley Cup to whatever team (which, in his eyes, is always the Leafs...magically) has the best fancy stats.

Today marks 3 weeks since #Isles conducted season-ending player interviews.

Still waiting to hear from Lamoriello and Lambert.

Staple's right about the team going to back-to-back conference finals being almost entirely Snow's. I've always said he doesn't get any credit when he most certainly deserves some.

The thing is, that very same team never gets anywhere near the conference finals if Snow remained at the helm. It took someone who knew what the heck he was doing to translate some nice pieces into actual success.

I still find it funny may of the TV hockey people would always mention the Islanders needing a goalie and no word about the lousy coaching during the Cappy years.

I went to the one 10 years ago at Yankee Stadium. The game itself sucked like most do when played outside but the tailgate and everything leading up to the game was great. I'll definitely be going again
