Great, so the leafs wait it out cause it took ovi and mck a while?
Not a great plan imo - Fakepartofme
Umm yes? Did they trade Crosby/Malkin/Letang after they didn't win for 8 years? No. Will a big change come? I say yes. Could be Styles. Could be Matty or even Marner. You dont blow it up. |

Yup. My opinion he'd be the one of the core four to lock up
. Able to raise his game. - BorjeFan4Ever
(frank) that.
He’s the first to go.
He’s an enigma. Gotta start fresh.
He has great games, and terrible games.
But at the end of the day he’s a wussy. |

The first question is
“Who will run the show moving forward?”
And I expect that to be answered very quickly - Dozzer
I think by Monday. I dont see why you drag it out longer. You know if you want to extend or not for Dubas. If its an extension I think its got a condition of breaking the 4 up in some way. |

You wanted Jarnkrok out and said either Holl or Schenn was gonna come out.
Dork is a compliment. - joel878
OK, so tell me why Jarnkrok should be in the lineup?
WTF did he do? He was invisible the whole playoffs. Btw, here are his stats for this playoff and career playoff stats.
2022-2023 Playoffs
GP G A P +/-
10 1 2 3 1
Career Playoffs
GP G A P +/-
85 5 17 22 -12
Maybe I'm wrong, but that doesn't look like a playoff asset in any way.
I think I remember Holl being out a few games.
Granted, I was wrong about Schenn.
What were you wrong about? |

I think that's the most rational approach. Kyle, it's time to do things differently. Do you want to do it or do you want to have someone else do it. |

A "big" change means you're blowing up the Core 4. - mjones242
If thats your definition of blowing it up then sure. I just dont want to see them all traded into a rebuild. |

Oh. So who should have played in Jarnkroks spot? Simmonds?
Its amazing how players aren't beneficial in the playoffs until they are and the point count doesn't tell the entire story.
Jarnkrok wasn't Gretzky that's for sure, but he was fast, he dug out the puck and he made good defensive plays. Who was the other option to play in that spot?
Timmins? McMann?
They were already only playing 11 forwards with him in the lineup. You want to take out an actual NHLer and replace him with what? |

Dump Marner and Murray contract.
Sign ROR, Acciari, Schenn, Bertuzzi, Dumba and Bratt.
Trade out whatever else to make money work. Who cares.
Fire Keefe. Hire Gallant. |

Definitely a coaching change. And if Kyle isn't on board with that it's time to find a GM who is. |

Except for Tavares, they are all young players with plenty of years left.
You cannot afford to lose them for nothing though, so what do you do if you can't agree to a new contract this summer? Run it one last time and possibly see them leave as a ufa?
That's crazy. |

Jarnkrok is a decently priced middle six guy signed for 3 more years that the fanbase expects a bit much from to be fair to him.

Who gives a (frank) about Jarnkrok.
Those type of players who were difference makers with other teams are always stale by the time they get to Toronto. Speaking of stale, O’Reilly idgaf about anymore.
The way I see it, nobody’s safe.
Preferably keep Matthews, Marner, Woll.. that’s about it. In hindsight nobody that was acquired at the deadline was any kind of difference maker.
Fire Keefe.
Fire Dubas.
Fire Shanny.

I’m sincerely curious to see how this plays out.
I’m guessing Shanny is going to want a different roster style approach one way or another. |

I know we already knew he was a classless bumhole.
But Gudas yelling in Woll's face after the goal was the action of a classless bumhole. |

Marner needs to go.
Schenn and Acciari were two of our best players all playoffs. They serve their roles. Gamers couldn’t game, haven’t been able to game, time to dump one. It’s Marner. |
