I don't watch a pile of other games but I'm sure the officiating is just as bad. Monkey was talking about all the poop that Pieterangelo took leading upto his slash, which I agree shouldn't happen but it's crazy that nothing is put on the officials for letting emotions and the game getting to that point. It's their job to manage that stuff. - Aaron_85
no doubt, I do watch quite a few games due to business travel... I'm often out west. The officiating issue like the DOPS performance problem is consistency or lack thereof.
You simply cannot explain away some of the "game management" that is attempted. I didn't happen to watch any of the recent Oilers/Knights game.... but regardless that two hander has to be a suspension - not just a meaningless fine.
Matthews was suspended for a couple of games for a cross-check to Dahlin's head/neck.... no problem with the call. Bennett cross checks Bunting - nothing. Again just a single example but undeniable.

Of course he got some. Boss ass ones too. But most weren’t stunningly effective and often left him out of position. He was easy to bait. Everyone needs one wild guy, like Gudas, as classless as he is. But a smaller framed one or an older one is only for teams that have cap concerns. 1.5 for a finisher isn’t going to get you much. - alwaysjoeking
Gudas makes 2.5 and is their 5th D. So nice try, but you appear to have no idea what you are talking about.

Run it back.
Next year is the year!
But seriously extend RoR, Acciari and schenn - Fakepartofme
A good example was Boston, last year, then this year. They were in 4th in the Atlantic and jumped to 1st. They'll step back next year, as will Tampa and retool. Both of those teams are also draft pick poor. Boston and Tampa have an older core so it's going to take some doing to recoup their lost picks. Toronto has talent in their mid 20's that could be dealt for draft capital. Use two of the Core 4 and rebuild their draft capital and bring in hungry, younger players that teams will be forced to give up, to get a star player. Use that cap space to sign other players that can be stars, just not as good as the one's that you've traded, in free agency. Timo Meier could conceivably become available next year. He's a larger, power forward with scoring prowess. He could fit in on the top 2 lines.

Goal wasnt over, wasnt conclusive....get over it
Call the nhl superstar - Fakepartofme
I said it was a goal based on the replay I saw and you got all but hurt and defensive & aggressive because you were wrong and added in being chirpy because I assume you were embarrassed about being wrong.
Way to double down superstar.
Not conclusive - you should go work for the NHL hero.

He's not worth more than 3M for 3 years. Murray can be the 3rd keeper, even if you bury him in the minors and take the cap hit. Someone might bite on him, if they're desperate.

Which tweet was this?
I refuse to believe in any nhl conspiracy nonsense, sorry but I just don’t want to so I don’t even consider it. - Dozzer[/quote
not a conspiracy... but I believe during the 2-3 intermission - a message was put out explaining the reason for the goal being called off.... I'm not sure if it was a tweet or posted to a message board.
hilarious each way.
maybe we get Parros giving out suspensions in real-time next.

I didnt get butt hurt, just simply said ok great call the nhl and tell them. Then you got all pissy and went on about some bs of not admitting i was wrong? I do all the time.
But i wasnt wrong, it was no goal and the zoomed in angle shot wasnt shown until after my post and even that doent show it over the line.
Why would i be embarrassed about anything in a reply to you?
Get real.
I get it youre sad the leafs lost, no need to freak out.

No, i said i really wanted the leafs to get over the first round hump. Which they did. After which i was relieved and no longer had any stress about future outcome.
I do want the oilers to beat the knights.
But it wasnt id prefer the oilers to win over the leafs winning if thats what you mean.
Leafs first, oilers second. Neither came true
But the jays won. |

It's after 1AM. It's really getting acid like in here. I get it! I'm pissed about a lost opportunity to see the Leafs win a Cup. This was their best chance to get there. First round, a team sliding downwards from their championship years. Second round, a team that went to game 7 overtime to beat the President's Trophy team and we didn't take advantage of a letdown after an emotional series and let it get away from us. The road was plowed to the finals. They just had to stay on it and get there. It won't come again for a while and it's obvious that MLS&E has again hyped us to believe that it was our year, when it really wasn't. If they thought that they really had a chance to win, they'd have gotten a bench boss with a winning pedigree. They didn't! We all know where it's going. Just a few splashes of paint and mostly the same team next year. Put that lipstick and perfume on that same pig and have it perform on a strippers poll once again. The insanity will continue and like the saying goes; doing the same thing, over and over and expecting a different result. Time to climb down off of this soapbox and step back into reality that it's now summer and time to let it go. Let the vent be with you!! |

I know you refuse to admit you’re wrong ever, the fact your username has the word fake it says it all.
I get that you’re upset that I called you out for being wrong and that you were. Have a drink, and just move past being wrong and that you were a jackass for making the smart ass comment when I called your bluff.

That's my whole issue. Just be consistent. Make the calls against the leafs. Matthews cross check costs him 2 games. Okay cool. Haven't seen a cross check get a suspension since.

There’s a dominant core here in both defense and offense. No longer a concern to get into the post season. I’d like to see the Justin Holl project over, that’s a good slot for a veteran looking for a cup, like Hamonic. A good return for Nylander is early pick or to two round prospect plus a bigger grinder like Kassian as a trade deadline move.
Maybe a young goalie and young fourth line winger experiment also. |

I thought that was a goal and I believe it was in but there was no clear video that showed that the puck crossed the line... It is similar to some of the glove saves where the p[uck is clearly in but that they cannot see it because it is in the glove.. I like Friedman's idea of having the chip in the puck have a sensor so that it leaves no doubt,.
