I'll say this about Radko Gudas and the Leafs. If the Leafs have any, and I mean ANY shred of self-respect, this guy should be on the clock for payback going forward. I don't care if Mother Teresa is the next GM. After the poop he pulled with the Kampf hit, the stick hold on the winning goal, and then gloating in Woll's face, there needs to be payback.
(frank) that piece of poop. - fifty__missions
I am more concerned with that stick hold. Very obvious. Jarnkrok should have freaked out on the refs and try to force a call. Pretty bad and obvious and when you are facing elimination??? Come on… |

It’s not like he even hides it by holding it under his arm. Totally obvious. Imagine if Bunting was doing that? Immediate call and suspension!!! Lol |

When I saw that goal live I was like ‘why is the leaf player letting him walk right in and shoot?’ THATS WHY! Ha ha. Jokes on the Leafs again! Goal called back and another missed call! |

Whats done is done but…
Anyone notice Gudas grab Jarnkrok’s stick on the goal? No wonder the guy walks right in and scores… hard to defend when you don’t have your stick…
We all know that if its the Leafs its a penalty… ho hum… - Hockey_Reverend
When the dust settles it is what it is. They aren't a team that is good enough to win it all. They made it to the 'top 8' and couldn't make it the 'top 4'. To take the next step they have to make some changes.
The good news is they are in a really good position to make change. The next 6 weeks they'll get a sense of what 34 and 88 are looking for on extensions. Once you know that, you can plan. Re-sign or trade.
I think Keefe is an easy target but a new coach is the easiest way to make significant change. Gotta decide if Dubas has figured out how to reshape the team and is the guy to sign the next wave of contracts.
Lots of Cap flexibility. Big players coming up soon. Muzzin is done. Kerfoot at 3.5 is done. Woll and Knies are firmly in the group at 800k price tags.

Was every hit by Bennett charging? It seemed like it. I guess that’s not a penalty anymore. |

Did they ever catch the Ranger fans that assaulted the Devils employee after game 7? - The Law
It doesnt matter, even if he was caught they would just let him go, there is no such thing as crime anymore. |

Fire Dubas.
Get rid of Keefe and Shanahan.
Trade Matthews and Nylander.
Clean up defense a bit (bye bye Brodie, Holl).
Keep Woll.
Add some players with heart.

Always entertaining listening to Laff fans after they lose. You truly believe every single loss was the referee's fault. The whining and crying is hilarious.
Oh well, another season, another early exit.
Fun fact - the Leafs have never even made a Stanley Cup Final, never mind win the Cup, when there were more than 5 other teams to beat out.
Just a pathetic team with pathetic fans.

Retool is a subjective term. Keep what works ...change what doesn't. |

Sorry, no one is blaming this on the refs. The Leafs lost this when they lost the first 3 games. Especially the no show of game 3. But it would be nice to see consistent calls and blatant penalties called. I would have liked to have seen Florida score on the ‘over the boards’ PP in OT, that would have been classic and it would have been fun to see the fans reaction…

When you lose that many home games (with last change) it says something about coaching
When you repeatedly attempt long stretch passes, it says something about structure
When you constantly go back to weak links like Holl and Kerfoot, it says something about perception
When you get outcoached by Maurice, it’s not good
Fire Keefe
Also, Liljegren was arguably the 2nd or 3rd best dman in the regular season. Keefe sits him for a month, and he returns as a shell of his former self. Partially responsible for 2 goals last night. Same thing would’ve happened with Timmins. |
