i kind of do like jones mentioning the snider thing. a lot of people thought of it as another link-to-the-past type of thing and i can't really blame them since danny briere is the GM and keith jones is his boss. the team clearly still does this link-to-the-past stuff. but the past they really need to get away from is the 70s past. so they're using the same formula but this is an entirely different generation of their past. that said, i think these hires are (frank)ing insane but whatever. i'll give it a chance. what do i know?

the reason i like the snider mention is because i like to think he was trying to comfort fans who have been disappointed by the lack of direction ever since snider died.

hopefully for you guys Brière will be a smart GM and will eventually be able to bring the team back to a certain level of success. it would kinda suck though if he was just there to be a puppet... he always struck me as a rather shy and soft-spoken fella, but I guess that doesn't mean he'll be always simply approving other people's takes without ever shaping the team to his own vision.

hey man, I've barely taunted you since the leafs got eliminated, I'd say I've been pretty good on that front...

i'm really waiting out the torts era anyway so hopefully if it doesn't work out they clean them all out in a few years and hire experienced people. if it does work out i guess we really can't complain about any of it and just enjoy the success.
