You'd have to be insane to sign ROR for any kind of term.
- BINGO!

He was described as incredible and Gilmourish by the Leafs homer media when he was traded to Leafs. That should mean 5 x 5 😁

Pay him what an average 32-year-old 15 goal scorer makes in the league on a 2 year contract.

Yeah, he'll jump at a low-ball offer like that...

Yeah that's you. I would agree. But I can see this being something Boston does to keep the window open one more year.

Only if Bergeron comes back. No point in signing ROR as 1st-line C.

Just close the window.

In case you don't know ROR is coming off a 7 YR $7M contract, if he accept a 3 yr deal at $4-4.5 he will return to the Blues. He still has his home here and some here believe that a WINK DEAL was made before the trade. The Blues pulled this off with Keith Tkachuk, the traded him to the Thrashers for 2 firsts and a 3rd at the deadline and he resign with the Blues on July 2nd!

You're probably right. However how many organizations willingly rebuild before they miss the postseason multiple seasons in a row? Not many. San Jose and Washington are two teams I think should definitely be rebuilding. Pittsburgh probably should as well, though I can understand from an ownership profitability why they wouldn't want to. Boston was too successful this regular season to quit on next season. At least until the TDL.

We need a younger guy like Mason Marchment. Too bad we never had a guy like him.

I like ROR, but he's only got a few seasons left, and he'll want too much time and dollars.

Unless he doesn't. Who knows?

This is what I was saying. Would take several moves to free up space and even then ROR could likely cash in for more elsewhere.

HA! yaa... who knew that guy was going to flourish elsewhere. I am glad he's done well.

Ryan O will be effective until he retires, 3y 6 per. Leafs would have to move some money out and are going to.

Dubas trades Muzzin and a draft pick sweetener to Arizona and they will hold him on their LTIR HOF lineup , Toronto clears 5 million and can sign O'Reilley plus another player with the residual allocation.
- Alexzanki

I’m pretty sure that Muzzin and Murray season long tickets to Robidas island at this point.

I’d say that Toronto is walking a tightrope with all of their contracts right now.

Well yeah. Another reason why the need to rebuild instead of just trying a little bit of re-tool.

Little Cap-space and losing one (or both) of their core C = time to rebuild.

I know management is very often short-sighted, but maybe, just maybe, this one time they will do it right. Bruins are not gonna have a successful post season with Coyle and Zacha as their 1/2 C. The drop-off from Bergeron/Krecji is just too vast.

If Bergeron actually does come back for another year they might have another kick at the can. But squeezing in ROR would be a pipe-dream.
