If they miss I would want everyone fired. (They won’t) - sbroads24
There's no excuses for missing the playoffs this year but you're absolutely right that they would not shake anything up if they did unless it was a disaster. Adams has already been planting the seeds that he's not speeding things up and going to do it "right" which when I listened sounded like it extends to this coming season as well. So I don't foresee a Helly trade or anything like that as much as I would want it, I see them going free agent for a defenseman and then plugging in young players. |

Boston had Swayman ready to go and still paid Ullmark. You need two goalies these days imo. It would be a travesty if next year goes sideways because UPL has to play 30+ games and he's awful - Hank Balling
All this could be true, especially upl.
I kinda think levi isnt wayman, he's much better. Or at least the organization feels that way.
Also think upl has some upside still. He is/was very young. I think he can handle 30 nhl games IMO |

Missing the playoffs by a point will never and should never be viewed as some sort of an accomplishment - sbroads24
Yeah it’s bad but not as bad as THE ONLY TEAM TO GO TO 4 STRAIGHT SUPER BOWLS!!!*

Serious question, what is more valuable:
Trading a 14th and 16th OA or trading 2 prospects 1 and 2 years after drafting them?
Also doesn’t it look bad for an organization that bends over backwards for college prospects to move freshly acquired promising prospects?
Seems like digging yourself into a hole IMO. - washedup20
Almost always the picks over the prospects.

Year 1 goes to Swayman.
7-3-0 .945 1.50
vs
5-2-0 .905 2.94
Year 2 was 23-14-3 .914 2.41. Think we'd all be thrilled with that next season.
Maybe he'll be better, but 3 years in, Swayman is a high bar. |

You can't judge either on a 10 or fewer game sample. I like Levi in his handful of starts, liked his energy, body language, and better still, the way the team played in front of him like they had life breathed into them for the first time in months. |

When he asked the picks if they wanted to be in Buffalo they didn’t respond so he gambled:

I like it him too, but Swayman's first 3 years will be tough to match.

The NHL right now:
“Southern Hockey works”
Arizona:
“But how?” - Jet Jaguar BD
This is very very wrong and uneducated comment.
Amateur Hockey in Phoenix has been growing a lot the last decade or so.
Hockey is starting to pick up so much that Arizona has college hockey team.
The main issue is the arena. The original arena they used was 45 minutes to an 1 hour with traffic and out in the middle of no where. Fans hated it. |

Swayman has an amazing team in front him. It’s mostly the bruins system and players |

Just like it's all the goalie here, but nothing to do with the non-existent D system. |

Yep, makes it tough in front of the net. Something the Sabres could use. |

The “mostly” part is where there would be room for debate. But it certainly helps him out playing behind that team, especially during the stellar regular season they had this year.
Bob behind Columbus D was 2 time Vezina Bob
Bob behind FL run and gun (we don’t need no stinking) defense and he was the suckiest goalie to ever suck (according to some).
Panthers tighten up their play in front of him and all of a sudden Bob “rediscovered” how to be a goalie. It’s a miracle!
Bob is indeed on fire, there is no doubt he is playing out of his mind. But, it is a team defensive effort for it all to come together as it currently is for Bob and the Panthers. They’re not leaving Bob hanging out to dry, and he’s stopping damn near every puck he sees.

Are you hoping the back up gies better then 17 - 11 - 4
I'd take that from our back up goalie next season.
KA is thinking the same thing 😉 |
