Yeah I don’t get what’s awful about that?
Perfect world 4-5 years but it’s his last big contract so whatever - sbroads24
It isn't awful, but can you see Adams doing that ? |

For the right guys, I would absolutely OS them...realizing the win percentage isn't very good unless the current team is up against it.
The Oilers are up against it with $77.5 m Cap Hit for players. Leaves only $6m, unless they acquire a LTIR contract.
I am assuming Bouchard's contract value for 7,8 years is somewhere around $5.5m - $6.5m.
Pure guess on my part. I assume if the OS was in that range, the Oliers match it.
But it would hurt to do so as they would need to jettison some players for lower cost alternatives. They would have some work to do this offseason and next to retain those younger players they have coming off ELC's....so, they may decide to walk away and take the picks.
O/S of ~$6.5m returns '24 1st, 2nd, 3rd. Hopefully, those are all mid-twenties picks to make it less painful to the Sabres.
If they did $5.75m say, the competition is only a 1st and 3rd, Oilers absolutely match it. - IonSabres
There's one easy to forget part of Offer Sheets. The comp value is based on 5 years, if the term is higher. It makes 6.5m over 7 years into 9.1m comp. Kicks what you're saying up a tier, unless you want to limit your offers to 5 years.
I think there are good targets in the lower tiers every year. GM's just don't want to break the truce.

We still "owe" the oilers for the vanek offer sheet.
Offer sheets put a target on your teams best players.
Hope the Sabres avoid that game. |

Is that realistic?
Goalie Bob might be his best comparable as Bob had similar stats and age when he signed his contract at 12.27CH% for 7 years.
At 11% (a 10% discount) puts him at $9m.
That's alot of bread and a lot of term.
Sabres can handle all of that for 2 years, then it becomes problematic.
I'm with Boss, it doesn't fit with Levi in the fold and other very viable options for their situation. |

That's there to. Concentrate on that Dman and there are decent goalie's available on the FA market and a few cheaper trade targets. |

Great point, and I always forget it, lol.
5 year term would be good...longer is killer in terms of compensation.
I didn't mention it and should have...the O/S should be used for that key position...IMO, the 2RhD is that key position on this roster, especially given the weak pipeline.
Alot of ink on something that isn't going to happen. |

Here's my thoughts for the Day!!
Buffalo concentrates on getting another Top 4 D and maybe 1 more heavy middle 6 player. And play the defensive system they implemented the last 10 games of the year. And ride into next season with Levi UPL |

Savoie sent to Rochester. Would be nice if he played but I won't hold my breath. |

Gotta get my boy Murphy in there.
Why didn't you just send Poltys rights? He can't sign this season anyway. |

What does Rochesters lineup look like next season?
Who has a chance to move up or get moved?
Who from the Sabres would you move to promote the kids? |

I hope he plays on Saturday. He’s better than a majority of the roster from a skill and speed POV. He can only help them |

Well, first what are they thinking with Rousek. I would hope they don't let him go back overseas. He's a easy replacement for atleast 1 of Okposo or Girgensons.
There lineup could be loaded actually depending on who else they sign.
Olofsson is the easy choice for a trade. I really don't know who of the prospects they might move. Seems all have taken steps forward in there growth. Made the Decisions harder for Adams and his nerd crew. Could want another year to evaluate some of these players. |

Ostlund is hurt. That’s why he is here as in buffalo / roch. To originally get the injury looked at |

I know he is, didn't say he was playing, just probably chomping at the bit to play. |

What makes helly want to head to buffalo and extend?
Levi would be the last college guy the Sabres would ever be able to sign. It would be a scarlet letter talking levi into coming to buffalo and then trading and extending a starter for 5 years. |

I am hoping that Rousek comes up and replaces Girgs this year. KO back on a 1-year deal. |

Meanwhile, the Kings signed Portillo, traded for (and likely extend) Korpisolo and never think twice.
Sabres are really good at making things more difficult than they are supposed to be.

Buffalo and los angels are not on the same playing level.
Portillo bucked buffalo for LA.
How did the Sabres make that more difficult?
Koroposlo may not have wanted to play here either.
