Well, first what are they thinking with Rousek. I would hope they don't let him go back overseas. He's a easy replacement for atleast 1 of Okposo or Girgensons.
There lineup could be loaded actually depending on who else they sign.
Olofsson is the easy choice for a trade. I really don't know who of the prospects they might move. Seems all have taken steps forward in there growth. Made the Decisions harder for Adams and his nerd crew. Could want another year to evaluate some of these players. - Buff36
Bingo.
There is nothing bad about slowing the promotions and having these guys foaming at the mouth for the chance to play up, rather than relatively quick because it is "their turn".
I'm not saying run back the same roster, rather they now need to integrate Savoie, Rousek and Levi into regular and reliable play. And, still need to bring Quinn, Peterka, Krebs along in their next steps. Add in new Dman or two and a Goalie ... that is a poop ton of new players and development / chemistry to build.
Offseason checklist:
Get a decent 1B goalie, a 2RhD, and capable 3rd pairing Dman
- use some combination of Joker, Olo, 2024 picks and a Prospect
- keep Mitts and Krebs to build their trade value
Sign Dahlin and Power long term.

Buffalo and los angels are not on the same playing level.
Portillo bucked buffalo for LA.
How did the Sabres make that more difficult?
Koroposlo may not have wanted to play here either.
Your blaming management for location based cities. - Boss34
See any other team going through these issues with multiple players?

See any other nhl teams from the Buffalo area other than the Sabres?
And your levi for helly extended trade suggestion was excellent food for thought.

What would it take for Tampa to trade Ciernak to the Sabres
-just resigned him to a very reasonable 8x$5.2m contract that kicks in this season
-Buffalo being a division rival
-Bolts window closing
Those are big hurdles to overcome.
He would be a target I'd love to see them go after
-26 yo this month, contract runs out soon after he turns 34
-knows what it takes to win a SC ..2x
-big boy at 6'4", 225lbs and hits like a dump truck loaded with cement
-is stud, blocks a ton of shots, throws hit after hit
-won't backdown from anyone.

Tampas GM traded the farm for a role player and said his core is in their prime and it’s his job to support them. Where in this do you see their window closing? IMO they have another 5 years before it’s over. |

Yes, they where a target team of mine for Dman, they still have a couple of good D prospects that can step in. Use a strength to help reset your team. |

Closing, not closed.
Vasy, Kuch, Hedman, Stammer all 29 yo or will be in a couple months
Virtually zero draft picks through '25-26 season to fill the pipeline, or use as trade bait to extend timeframe.
Virtually no Cap space, especially when Seabrook's LTIR ends at the end of 23-24...going to be tough to sign guys as their older players retire tha costthem next to nothing now.
It's why trading Ciernak over next year or two while those guys still have their legs will be hard...they'll want every last squeeze

Holy Sh!t!! For possibly 1yr. Wouldn't do any of those deals. - Buff36
Ya.
Lol to a 2nd and a pair of dirty underwear be8ng enough for a "rental".
This is why trading for Helly is a bad, very very bad idea
Even the, extension included which could be a Contract at $10m...very similar to Bob.
What's so bad?
THAT is what's so bad.
Put this poop to bed. |

Goes against everything Adams has been preaching. Your willing to do this know, but if you had done something last year. Your team makes the playoffs and gains even more development, and the Organization sees these players in a playoff atmosphere and maybe learn themselves on what adjustments might need to be made. |

To "sell" this deal...
-Olo is a goal scoring RW for a team that needs help on the right...they are getting thinner there.
-Joker can play next to Heddy and fill the hole ok playing next to a great D partner.
-Olo @50% and Joker combine to less than Ciernaks Cap hit...it saves them some space but fills two spots
-Comrie displaces Elliot in a familiar BU role behind a Vezna Goalie...likely improves on Elliott's .891 SV% and wins a couple more games in his 25 starts then Elliott's 12
-Draft picks help to refill the pipeline so desperately needed
Ciernak would be a huge addition. His $5.2m Caphit is very good for what he brings. |
