You can always make Ventura an associate or assistant GM. Ventura was not in the running to be GM according to the big bois. I think Karmanos was but it seemed like Tulsky and Dan MacKinnon were leading candidates.

They'll do what they need to do to keep Ventura. There are other capable guys in this league that can do what Karmanos does.

Having a better defense covers their inefficiencies. Doesn't mean they'll be 'better'. They'll just appear to be more competent. UPL and Comrie had embarrassing individual numbers this past season. Goalies are voodoo so we can only guess how next season will go. If I were to pick a guy, I'd say Comrie comes back with better numbers. Ya know, if he's even here. I think UPL is what is he is. His goalie IQ lags behind his physical traits.

But a lot of a goalies production is due to the team in front of them.

Look at the bruins for the last 10-15 years, hurricanes, Vegas, Tampa, panthers and a couple other teams that play with no name goalies and win. (Ullmark was average with the Sabres)

I think it’s good to have that really good team and then a goalie in playoffs. See the Panthers this year.

They had 120 point season last season and this year snuck into playoffs.

Bob and knight sucked for a majority of the 1st half of the season.

Then Bob found his game and the panthers are rolling

Panthers have a good goalie and a really darn good team in front of Bob
