Id love for Jay Leach to bring some of that passion that they got in Seattle to NY. Would be cool to see Knoblauch as an assistant coach with the main squad as well, I think the team responded well to him when he filled in behind the bench.
To me Leach is probably not the right hire seeing how close they are, I’d prefer Lavy. He knows how to win in the playoffs at least as head coach. I know it was a long time ago, but he’s won a cup and took an overachieving team to the finals with Philly. That should inspire a bit of confidence no?
You'd think that Lavy would be perfect for NY. The pieces are there to make serious runs now and his style of coaching would get the most out of them. Plus, he'd make the team play with some jam.

Nothing against Leach, just not sure this team needs someone brand new to HCing. They are a win now team so I’m not sure that would work at this time - Slimtj100
Leach was the head coach of the providence bruins fwiw
NHL I mean. I think there is less chance of it blowing up with Lavy. They need speed regardless who the HC is imo. They ain’t fast enough - Slimtj100
I disagree on the speed front somewhat. I feel that it was more of an issue with decision making that stemmed from lack of support from the coaching staff.
What if they hire somebody that is universally hated already? Get out in front of that. - tomburton99
There are flaws to every coach and most every player. “We” just choose to beat the dead horse on it all the time. Society in a nutshell are hockey fans

Idk what you mean exactly. Gallant was buried by the players in exit interviews. They said the things we all had noticed

Easier to blame the coach than actually work hard during the playoffs and show some heart. The only players that get a pass this playoffs where Shesty, Kreider and maybe 1 or 2 others.
Not saying Gallant was perfect or shouldn't have been let go, but we are seeing some of the same issues through multiple coaches and philosophies.

I’m worried about the foot speed of the team. I thought it was glaring vs Devils, how much faster they were. Quicker decision making yea that would help. GG just took the fall. I honestly don’t think a new coach is going to change much if the roster is relatively the same
This is the fastest the league has ever been we can’t behind the 8ball on it. Laf and Kakko kill us with this, and ultimately why they’re struggling imo. Neither are very fast on their skates
